Notre Dame Academy - Worcester Notre Dame Academy is the only Catholic, independent, private, all-girls school in Central MA. Enrollment:

Campus:
The 13-acre campus includes the academic building, the athletic center, the Lucius Knowles Athletic Field, and Knollwood, the convent of the Sisters of Notre Dame. In 2009, the Academy completed an addition to the academic building that includes a new multifunctional student center, the Lauring Music Room, an art center, the John and Virginia Flagg Art Gallery, the Kenary Terrace and expanded office space. The science laboratories and the Cuvilly Auditorium also underwent complete renovation. In 2012, the Academy completed renovations on the third floor of the academic building to house the Heritage Chapel. The Academy also acquired the property at 425B Salisbury Street, which is now the Gage House- World Language & Communication Center. In 2019 The Athletic Center received several upgrades including new ADA compliant telescoping bleachers and new flooring complete with volleyball sleeves. In addition a strength and conditioning training facility was built on the lobby level of the athletic center.

Please join us in welcoming Patricia Peterleitner ‘74 to Notre Dame Academy as one of our new College Counselors!

With more than 30 years of experience guiding students and families, Patricia brings a wealth of knowledge, insight, and perspective to NDA. Her career has included leadership roles in independent schools, including serving as a Head of Upper School and Director of Academic Support, as well as extensive work helping students navigate academic planning, college decisions, and career direction.

Patricia’s approach begins with something incredibly important: getting to know the student. She believes that understanding who a student is, their strengths, interests, goals, and aspirations should come before deciding where they should go. From building a thoughtful college list to developing a clear admissions strategy and helping students find the path that is right for them, Patricia brings three decades of experience and a strong professional network to the process.

We are especially excited about the opportunity for Patricia to partner with our students and families throughout the college journey. Having an experienced and trusted counselor alongside our students as they explore their options, make decisions, and take their next steps will be an incredible resource for the NDA community.

A beautiful new tradition began today. Faculty and staff joined in the Heritage Chapel for a prayer service, and a history lesson about the chapel and its beautiful relics. Every faculty and staff member then received a sunflower to not only remind us of our founder Saint Julie Billiart’s quote, but to remind us all to turn towards the good.
“Be like the sunflower that follows every movement of the sun, and keep your eyes always turned towards our good God.”🌻

Student Spotlight: Maddie Wilson ‘27

Four years ago, Maddie Wilson ’27 began learning American Sign Language (ASL) so she could better communicate with her friend who is deaf. What started as an act of friendship has grown into a meaningful skill that Maddie continues to share with others.

Maddie is also a talented athlete and musician, and recently had the opportunity to perform ASL alongside Eldon James and the One-Eyed Cat as part of the Vintage Salvage Summer Concert Series!

And if that wasn’t impressive enough… Maddie had just competed in the Falmouth Road Race that very same morning!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Dana on being named the Female Bay State Games Youth Athlete of the Year!

This incredible honor recognizes athletes who go above and beyond their participation in the Bay State Games. Recipients are selected based on their overall achievements, involvement in the Bay State Games and their community, effort, sportsmanship, ability to overcome adversity, and attitude both on and off the field.

Dana embodies all of these qualities and more. Her dedication, determination, character, and commitment to excellence make this recognition so well deserved, and we are incredibly proud to have her as part of the Notre Dame Academy community!

Welcoming Miss O’Brien as Our Saint Julie Coordinator!

We are pleased to announce that Jessica O’Brien will be stepping into a new leadership role within Notre Dame Academy. In addition to her work as a World Languages teacher, Miss O’Brien will serve as the Saint Julie Coordinator for our 7th and 8th grade division.

A proud Notre Dame Academy alumna, Miss O’Brien brings a deep understanding of our school’s mission, traditions, and community to this important role. With many years of experience as an educator, she is committed to supporting our students both in and out of the classroom and helping our youngest Rebels thrive as they begin their NDA journey.

As Saint Julie Coordinator, Miss O’Brien will work closely with our 7th and 8th grade students, families, and faculty to foster a strong sense of community, belonging, and connection to the Notre Dame Academy experience.

Student Spotlight: Danielle Vigeant 🌟

Congratulations to Danielle Vigeant ‘28 on receiving the $2,500 Char Coleman Women in Service Scholarship from First Responders Credit Union!

The scholarship invited middle school, high school, and college students to reflect on the prompt, “What First Responders Mean to Me.” Danielle’s heartfelt essay shared the story of her father and an accident they encountered together while driving home from school, an experience that gave her a deeper appreciation for the courage, dedication, and service of first responders.

At the scholarship awards ceremony, the committee praised Danielle not only for her exceptional writing, but also for how poised and confident she presented herself.

When asked about her confidence, Danielle shared, “That is what NDA has taught me, how to be confident in my abilities and take every opportunity and give it my all.”

We couldn’t be more proud! Danielle’s achievement is a wonderful reflection of her compassion, character, and the confidence she continues to develop at Notre Dame Academy.

Thank you to Ellie and Sarah for sharing their summer service story! These two young women spent a week in West Virginia last month taking part in the Appalachian Service Project. Along with 102 other people from the area, they made homes “Safer, Warmer, and Drier” for the wonderful people they served.
