What a Fun Friday !!

Our preschoolers had a blast exploring the Boston Children’s Museum! From building and creating to experimenting and discovering, there was something exciting around every corner.

So many smiles, so much curiosity, and lots of hands-on fun ! It was a wonderful day of learning through play and making memories together.

Summer camp had a talent expo the last field trip of the year !

These kiddos did such an amazing job, everyone is a winner.

Their bravery , courage and natural talent blew everyone away. The support from their classmates was so heart warming.

FCC Educators provide Healthy Habits!
Rainbow’s Family Child Care Educators participated in a nationally recognized program to create healthy, active, and nurturing environments for young children called GO NAPSACC which stands for Go Nutrition And Physical Activity for Children. Under the guidance of Rosalia Flores, Director UMass Nutrition Education Program our educators received resources, guidance, and practical strategies to strengthen nutrition, physical activity, and outdoor play, in their childcare programs. A percentage of educators participated in this professional development program that included to analyze and assess their program’s physical activity, implement additional time to physical activity, and adjust the children’s menus to increase fruits, veggies and offer water throughout the day eliminate sugary beverages.
Below is a sample of an educator’s objective and success in increasing children’s physical activity.

Pre-40% - Post 100% Increase Physical Activity (PA) to 90 minutes+ indoor & outdoor, tummy time for infants 4X day, adult led PA 45 minutes+, children not seated more than 15 minutes & infants not placed in swings, etc. Interacts with infants to encourage tummy time. Large variety of portable play equipment available during free time and large variety of posters, books, and other learning materials to promote PA. Planned PA throughout the day. PA training once a year & shares PA education with families. Wrote a PA policy.

Preschoolers field trip to the EcoTarium – a wonderful day of exploring !
From amazing animals and fascinating exhibits to hands-on discoveries our preschool explorers had an unforgettable day of learning and FUN at the EcoTarium! Our preschoolers experienced science and nature beyond the classroom, from observing fascinating animals to exploring interactive exhibits. Children asked many questions and experienced learning as an adventure!

Little artists in preschool Group 2 had an unforgettable sensory experience as they transformed their teachers into living canvases! Using paint, creativity, and lots of laughter, the children explored colors, and their artistic expression while strengthening fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Most importantly, this activity created joyful core memories that reminded us learning is at its best when it’s hands-on, meaningful, and filled with smiles. ❤️🎨

Summer is in full swing at Rainbow Child Development Center's Camp Marshall in Spencer, and our campers are busy and making the most of every day!
From building robots and creating amazing works of art to exploring the wonders of nature through hands-on science, strengthening literacy skills, and enjoying exciting weekly field trips, there's never a dull moment. Every activity is designed to spark children’s curiosity, creativity, confidence, and friendships.
We're very proud of all our campers and grateful to our dedicated staff for making this a summer filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories. Thanks to all for ensuring children are having a wonderful summer at Rainbow!

Animal Adventures visit Rainbow!

Our preschoolers had a wonderful hands-on learning experience this week as they observed, asked questions, and interacted with some amazing animal visitors from Animal Adventures! 🐢 This special hands-on experience with various animals sparked our children’s curiosity, expanded their knowledge, and nurtured their respect for living things. They thoroughly enjoyed and were excited to see and gently touch live animals! Additionally, children strengthened their observation skills, built confidence, and discovered more about the world around them. Their smiles, laughter, and sense of wonder said it all!

We are excited to announce our new partnership with Libby, the bookmobile from the Worcester Public Library! Beginning this summer, Libby will visit Rainbow on Monday mornings, bringing the joy of reading directly to our preschool children.
These visits will provide an engaging and accessible way for our preschool children to discover new stories, spark their imaginations, strengthen early literacy skills, and ultimately promote a lifelong love of reading.
