✨WATN✨ Let’s get connected with 2022 grad Ivori Hidalgo…

“I’m Ivori Hidalgo, Bancroft Class of 2022! I graduated this past May from the College of the Holy Cross with a B.A. in Economics and a concentration in Latin American Studies. I’m now working as a Financial Analyst I at The Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester.

Life these days consists of working, spending more time with family and friends, and making time to enjoy the little things. It’s definitely a different pace from college, but this next chapter has been an exciting opportunity to grow, and build a future that feels meaningful!”

Learning, growing, and putting ideas into action. 💙📚

As part of our ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive and thoughtful school environment, Bancroft welcomed Dr. Liza Talusan to campus for Professional Development Day.

Dr. Talusan gave our faculty and staff practical tools for bringing identity-conscious practice into the classroom and throughout our school community. Her message was engaging, authentic, and, most importantly, actionable — helping our educators think about how we can continue to create spaces where every student feels seen, understood, and empowered to learn.

We’re continually learning, reflecting, and challenging ourselves to grow as educators and as a school community because creating the best possible experience for our students means never being finished with the work.

We’re grateful to Dr. Talusan for helping us take another meaningful step forward. 💙

A summer well spent, the Bancroft way. ☀️

As we turn the page to a new school year, we’re taking a moment to look back at a few of the places Bancroft brought us together this summer.

📍 Boston — We kicked things off in June with a wonderful reception at the French Library in the Back Bay.

⚾ Worcester — In July, we headed to Polar Park for a summer night with the WooSox. Nothing says summer quite like baseball, a hot dog, and good company.

🌊 Biddeford, Maine — August brought us north for a beautiful evening outdoors at the home of Trustee Padgett Berthiaume ‘97 and Paige Spence-Berthiaume. Good food, great conversation, and plenty of Bancroft spirit made for a memorable night.

And then there was Cape Cod… 🌧️ We were all set for our annual gathering at the home of David Nicholson ’72 and Suzie Nicholson in West Falmouth, but Mother Nature had other plans. We’ll see you there next summer!

WATN: WHERE ARE THEY NOW? 🎤

From Bancroft to the TEDx stage at UCLA!

We’re proud to spotlight 2001 alumna Dr. Kelly Turner, a heat researcher, science communicator, and Professor of Urban Planning and Geography at UCLA.

In her TEDxUCLA talk, “How to Live in Extreme Heat,” Dr. Turner explores what it means to live well in a warming world. Record-breaking heat may dominate the headlines, but hotter-than-usual conditions can quietly impact our everyday quality of life. She walks us through a typical hot day—today and in a future designed for living well with heat.

As Associate Director of heat equity research at the UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation, Dr. Turner studies how people can thrive in a hotter world and has advised federal, state, and local governments on heat policy.
