The phlebotomy students are coming up on their last week of classes and then will be heading off to externships. Our next class starts Tuesday October 5th and there is still time to register. We have been receiving numerous calls from companies in dire need of phlebotomists. A few of our students have already accepted positions with sign on bonuses. Our CLinical Medical Assistant program is starting up again August 2nd. Employment of CMAs is projected to 19 percent over the next 10 years. Our phlebotomy students have been drawing blood on each other in the lab. They are learning about the proper technique for veinipuncture and special blood collections. The students have also been using the centrifuge with their own blood specimens and learning how to pour off samples of serum or plasma. They are almost ready to take their state exam!
