Last night's NC Theta Chi Epsilon dinner at Brier Creek Beer Garden in Raleigh. We had representation from 1984 to 2013.

Hey all, now that the 115th is over I'm moving on to a much more important issue.

I'm sure you have seen postings about the dire situation facing DonDes. Brian O'Rourke has put together a zoom meeting for tomorrow morning at 7 am for any interested parties to get an update on Don's situation and to brainstorm solutions. The zoom is open to us all.

Please consider attending if you have the means to help, or if you have experience in finance, banking, real estate, or bankruptcy.

No financial commitment is required. Don would appreciate help of any kind, even if it's just moral support.

I hope this email finds you well. It is only 1 month until the Epsilon Chapter 115th Anniversary Party on March 23rd at Union Station in Worcester.

We have almost 200 attendees so far, which is great! You can see the list of who’s coming by clicking the link on the event page. If your name isn’t on the list, buy a ticket! If your friends aren’t on the list, reach out to them and encourage, harass, and harangue them into coming. The party will be that much more fun for you if more people from your era attend.

There is a chance that some of you are seeing email about this event for the first time. If so, I apologize for our incredibly lousy email list. We have been making updates, but it is far from complete.

That means we still need your help getting the word out! We have 700 brothers that do not have email addresses. Many of them are recent graduates. Take a look at this spreadsheet:

If you haven’t already, I am urging you to buy your tickets now and not wait until the last minute. We have a deadline from the venue for ordering refreshments ahead of the event. We also need to do all the logistics for the party – planning souvenirs, printing name tags, and the like.

Tickets for the event are still $100. Prices were scheduled to go up to $120 on March 1st, but we’re extending the regular price sale until March 9th to encourage you to buy your ticket. Last minute tickets will be available from March 10th to the 15th for procrastinators but at an increased price of $120. I know you’d rather spend that extra $20 at the bar, so don’t wait until the last minute!

The response has been good so far and we are excited to see that registrations have been picking up.

Early Bird Reminder

This is a reminder that the Early Bird alumni ticket price of $80 is only available until Jan 31st. As of Feb 1st the price for alumni will increase to $100. Guest and undergraduate ticket prices will remain unchanged.

Help us get the word out. We have 2000+ alumni. Our contacts database has email addresses for only about 600. Of those 600, about half opened the last email and 10% clicked the link. That means 1400 brothers have no chance to know about the event, 300 brothers did not read about the reunion - whether because of obsolete addresses or aggressive spam filters, and 200 who read the email were not psyched enough to register when they read the email. While I know some of those 200 will come around, they need encouragement. From you. And the rest that won't see this email need to hear about the event. Again, from you.

Rush - it's the lifeblood of the fraternity and for us alumni, the biggest factor in the success of this event!

Direct outreach from you to your classmates is by far the best way to spread the word and generate interest. Please do your part to make this the best and most well-attended anniversary party yet.

Logistics update

Additional hotel room blocks have been secured in case the first blocks sell out. The new rooms are less expensive but located in Marlboro, which is a short drive/Uber from Union station. Check the EventBrite registration page for details.

Is it any surprise that Epsilon makes up almost 1/3 of my 350 FB friends? Maybe not seeing as I knew and lived with over 150 of you during my time at WPI. What is surprising is that the names on this list span over 40 years of graduating classes. I have continued to make and maintain Theta Chi friendships over all these years.

I’m reaching out to you personally to extend an invitation to the 115th anniversary of our chapter. It will be held on March 23rd at Union Station in Worcester. If you’ve been to any of the previous anniversary parties you know what a great time it can be reconnecting — both sharing old stories and catching up on life since college.

115th Anniversary Celebration Celebrate 115 years of Epsilon Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity!

We had a great turnout for the Fall 2023 OXe Career Networking and Advice night at the house. The evening consisted of 11 alumni comprising the panel, over 25 engaged, thoughtful active brothers in attendance, asking great questions and taking notes. Panel members shared experiences and offered advice. This was the second of five events to round out the revamped career preparedness activities planned for the year. Many thanks to all in attendance - both alumni and actives!
