We had a snowy Halloweekend and a full moon 🌕 ❄️

09/07/2020

Last night, there was a beautiful waning gibbous Moon, which one of our seniors captured. It lasts for ~7 days until the Moon becomes a Last Quarter Moon with an illumination of 50%. If you’re ever feeling stressed and/or have the time to go stargazing, pick a night with clear sky, put aside the device, go outside and look up. You won’t regret it.

Today is the first Monday of September, which marks that it is Labor Day. Though Clark may not observe this holiday due to corona virus condensing our academic calendar, it is still a day that should be celebrated (while socially distancing, wearing masks, and having a good time), especially in light of recent events. Labor Day is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers and is a tribute to the contributions those workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. Many of America’s working class are BIPOC, and they should get all of the praise and recognition they deserve. NRHH celebrates you 👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽👏🏼👏🏻

Also, this past Sunday, NRHH abstained from participating in the virtual club fair as we are in full support of .clarku and . Their demands have not been met, and until they are, we will not be participating in any future administrative wide-spread event. This decision to abstain from supporting the administration at Clark, will stand until & accommodates and fulfills all of the demands given. It’s a small price to pay on the administration’s end given the insurmountable award awaiting at the finish line and the foreseeable unity that could be created within the Clark and greater Clark community. NRHH has several administrative figures following this account, so we hope that you read our message and take everything that has been mentioned here to heart. We believe great things at Clark can happen, but it won’t until you, the one yielding the power and the influence at Clark, decide to read all of the demands outlined from .clarku & ‘s list, and enact change from following through with those demands. NRHH has hope you will make not the easy decision but rather the morally correct decision.

We will miss our Emma Narkewicz! Your Rachel’s Table annual food drive is such a great idea and we are so thrilled that you were able to see your idea come to be. Good luck this fall and with your future career. We know you’ll accomplish great things.

Hi everyone, my name is Emma Narkewicz & I’m a senior Biochemistry & Sociology Major. NRHH has been a huge part of my time at Clark, & I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to be inspired by my peers, grow as a leader, & work with some of the amazing community organizations in Worcester. My favorite service project was the Rachel’s Table annual food drive - as a sophomore I had an idea to collect & donate food from the dorms so it wouldn’t be thrown away, but I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea or not. NRHH’s service committee & the whole club encouraged me & it turned out to be a huge success. I would not be the person or leader I am without NRHH & I’m so thankful for the memories, service, & community this club has gifted me 💙

Hi my name is Doreen Dormah. I majored in biochemistry and molecular biology major and will be continuing my education this fall. My favorite part about NRHH is staff appreciation day. I loved seeing all the smiles on the staff’s faces 😁

Give a round of applause for this individual, Marie-Claire Salive. You will be missed MC! 💗

Hi I’m Marie-Claire, I majored in Biology and minored in international development. I hope to be working in health research in the fall and my favorite part of NRHH is the friendships and valuable service events, and also getting to see the tulips come to full bloom.
