WPI got the 'rascie awards' for being able to pick up the aliens, for doing donuts at the top of the mars hill before ending and the happiest rover award for the micro-rover. Here's the alien we got to keep!

The team for this years competition is a combination of a senior design team and undergraduate students. This year's project will be focusing on creating a micro-rover to assist Oryx 2.0 as well fine-tuning Oryx 2.0. Team members:

The competition was as fierce as it was close. WPI got 3rd place this year! Only 2.6 points away from first. Congratulations to Umass Lowell for first, and U of Maryland for second.
After a long day filled with nail bitting moments, ORYX and the Micro-rover are packed up for their trip home. Awards are next. With the top 3 teams within 3 points of each other, it all comes down to our education and public outreach score.

WPI Robo-Ops Outreach Video WPI Team Oryx's Robo-Ops 2013 Outreach Video
We scored 54 points! ORYX picked up 3 yellow rocks at 1 point each, a purple rock for 5 points and a red rock for 6 points. We also got a 25 point bonus for picking up at least one rock in each environment, and 15 points for ending at the top of Mars Hill.
We just finished our run! It was a great experience!!
Houston, all systems are nominal. Mission is a go.
