May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this week’s Mellow Monday in the Transition Program gave students the opportunity to focus on self-care, rest, and relaxation. After all the hard work students put in at school, internships, and in the community, this was a well-deserved day to recharge. Students participated in a variety of mindful and restorative activities while choosing what helped them feel their best. Activities included meditation, coloring pages, mindful body percussion and music, a calming movie, wind-down yoga, and inspirational chalk quotes to help raise everyone’s spirits as they enter for the day. It was a wonderful way to promote wellness, mindfulness, and positivity within our school community! 💚🧘

Congratulations to Ms. Jacqueline D'Amato for receiving the Vision to Action Award last night at Worcester Technical High School. Ms. D'Amato, best known as "Jackie" to her students and colleagues, brings “Vision to Action” to life through her deep commitment to her students, always putting their individual needs, strengths, and growth at the center of everything she does. She takes the time to truly get to know each student and thoughtfully designs her classroom to ensure they feel supported, included, and able to succeed. Jackie provides her students with access to community agencies, communication devices, and meaningful visuals, ensuring supports are individualized so each student can fully engage and build independence. She creates a space where students feel a genuine sense of belonging, while also holding high expectations and teaching essential skills with patience and care. Jackie goes above and beyond for her students and their families, while also contributing to the culture and climate of the school, making her impact both personal and far-reaching.
