On May 21, 1976, Mother Teresa received an honorary degree, Doctor of Ministry, from the College at the commencement of the first co-ed graduating class in Holy Cross history. In a letter to Father John E. Brooks, S.J., following the ceremony, she remarked, "They say where nothingness and greatness come together both complete each other and make something beautiful for God. This is exactly what I feel about you and me—as it is all for Jesus. I have nothing more to say—but that all be for the greater glory of God and his poor.”
Mother Teresa was awarded the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize and was canonized a saint in the Roman Catholic Church in 2016.

On May 6th, students gathered with members of the Holy Cross Physicians Association to celebrate the HCPA Alumni Authors exhibit on display in the O'Callahan Science Library.
