The Ciocca Center for Business, Ethics, and Society prepares students for business careers after Holy Cross by exploring multiple pathways for students interested in business. A liberal arts education is most valuable in today’s world when students have opportunities to connect their classroom learning to real-world environments and problems.

Last night students came together in Hogan to get a closer look at how our Experiential Learning Certificate Programs and student-run business clubs provide real-world experience. From hands-on projects and internships to mentorship and networking, each program helps students build practical skills, confidence, and clarity about what comes next.

From product thinking and marketing to finance and strategy, understanding how a business works means seeing how every piece connects.

Stay on campus during fall break and participate in Business Basics, a three-day workshop exploring business through hands-on learning. To cap it off, students will compete in a buildathon for the chance to win a $1,000 grand prize!

Develop an entrepreneur’s mindset!

Through the Ciocca Center’s Entrepreneurship & Innovation Program, students can connect with entrepreneurs and alumni mentors, attend site visits, compete in pitch competitions for cash prizes, and even build a business of their own.

The Global E&I workshop during fall break is a great place to start as it offers students the chance to dive deep into entrepreneurship, complex problem solving, and human-centered design methodologies. All are welcome!

From Gregorian Chant to the trading floor, Julian Beban ‘26 is redefining what a finance candidate looks like.

Aa a mathematics major, Julian leveraged his liberal arts education to stand out in sales & trading interviews by connecting pattern recognition in music with analytical rigor in markets. Through the Ciocca Center and the finance & banking certificate, he identified his path and targeted trading with intention.

Meet Mary Kate Murphy ‘26: An environmental studies major, business ethics minor, and a business fundamentals certificate recipient.

As a sustainability intern at Lindt & Sprüngli last summer, Mary Kate applied classroom concepts to make real-world impact while working on carbon calculations and product footprinting. She credits Ciocca workshops for giving her the technical foundation and confidence to contribute immediately in a professional setting.

Beyond the technical work, Mary Kate highlights the power of connection - building relationships across the company and seeing how sustainability work comes to life through collaboration.
