Financial Fridays is back!

This week, $53,396.24 was requested through Financial Board, with $35,581.14 approved!

Some notable requests this week included Brazilian Student Association receiving funding to attend the SHPE National Convention in Indianapolis, Vietnamese Student Association receiving funding to share bánh mì with the WPI community and raise cultural awareness, and Cycling Club receiving funding to compete in two races, including a multi-day championship.

This week’s Financial Fun Fact is about food funding! While SGA generally limits food funding to larger events expecting 15% of campus, cultural/food clubs may also qualify for food funding under the “cost of doing business” or “professional networking” exceptions.

Senate was back in session last week! We heard from the Heebner Career Development Center, discussed concerns surrounding CPT and international student opportunities, and got updates on upcoming campus safety and Town Hall conversations. Senate also reviewed more than $83,000 in recently approved funding, previewed the upcoming Student Life Fee discussion, welcomed two new full-time Senators, and shared opportunities for voter registration and upcoming campus events.

Financial Fridays is back!
This week, $59,045.65 was requested through Financial Board, with $21,358.88 approved.
Some notable requests this week included Photography Club receiving funding to process film, host photo galleries, and support equipment repairs; Marching & Pep Band replacing worn-out drum major podiums and purchasing new uniforms and flags; and Middle Eastern & North African Club receiving funding for a cultural barbecue on the Campus Center lawn.
This week’s Financial Fun Fact is all about conferences! SGA funding has limits on how many attendees an organization can fund for regional and national conferences each fiscal year.

Welcome back to Financial Fridays.
This week, $155,346.24 was requested and $126,920.34 was approved through Financial Board. Notable requests included Panhellenic Council x IFC, Men’s Club Rugby, and Lens and Lights.
This week’s financial fun fact is about fundraising events: students cannot be required to make a donation in order to access an SGA-funded portion of an event, and SGA-funded events must track attendance.
We’re also highlighting a Senate FR for Pep Rally, where $43,345.24 was requested and approved. Pep Rally will be held on the Quad on 9/25 from 5–9 PM, with free food, activities, performances, and giveaways.

Welcome back to Financial Fridays.

This week, Financial Board saw $94,498.54 requested and $88,493.63 approved, with notable requests from Zeta Psi Fraternity, Society of Martial Arts, and Greenhouse & Horticulture Club.

Our financial fun fact this week: unused SGA budgeted funds DO NOT roll over into the next fiscal year. At the end of the fiscal year, unused budgeted funds return to the SGA Reserve.
We’re also highlighting a Senate FR from ATO x FIJI, which received $26,743.59 to support Week of Hope, featuring mental health awareness programming, guest speakers, dog therapy, and a 5K competition.
