Story time on the School Bus on August 20, 2026, in two locations.
- 10:00 am at Main South CDC.
- 11:00 am at WFP 130 Leeds St.
It is an event for families with young children to sit on the bus, read a story, get some safety information, and take a brief ride around the block.

Worm your way into summer fun with us! Join us at the Family Resource Center, 20 Cedar Street, Worcester, MA 01609, on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 10:00–11:30 AM for a joyful, hands-on morning of reading, creating, and discovering! We'll enjoy How to Say Hello to a Worm by Kari Percival and learn all about gardening, kindness to living things, and the wonderful world of nature. Along the way, children will build early literacy, listening, vocabulary, observation, and curiosity skills as they explore the story. After the book, children will create a colorful art project by making fingerprint worms, encouraging fine motor skills, creativity, and sensory exploration. Come dig into the fun, make new discoveries, and celebrate the wonders of nature with us—we can't wait to see you there!

Spread your wings for a bird-filled morning of fun! Join us at our Leeds Street location on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM for a joyful morning of reading, exploring, creating, and discovering! We'll enjoy Birds by Kevin Henkes as we learn about different kinds of birds, what they look like, where they live, and the amazing things they do. Along the way, children will build early literacy, vocabulary, observation, listening, and science skills while exploring the world of birds. After the story, children will get creative by making their own colorful bird craft, encouraging fine motor skills, creativity, and imaginative play. Along the way, children will build early literacy, listening, observation, vocabulary, and prediction skills while exploring the story. After the book, children will create their own nature binoculars and use their imaginations as they pretend to explore the great outdoors, encouraging creativity, fine motor skills, and imaginative play. Bug out with us for a morning of nature-filled fun! Join us at our Leeds Street location on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM for an exciting morning of reading, exploring, creating, and discovering! We'll enjoy Some Bugs by Brendan Wenzel as we explore the fascinating world of backyard bugs and discover the important jobs they do in nature. Along the way, children will build early literacy, vocabulary, observation, listening, and science inquiry skills while learning about the tiny creatures all around us. After the story, children will create their own beautiful nature mobiles using natural materials, encouraging creativity, fine motor skills, and an appreciation for the outdoors.
