Our next meeting of the Schantz Makerspace will take place on Monday September 21, 2026.
It will be held at the Romich maker space building, 13885 Cleveland Road, Creston, Ohio 44217. 7-9 pm.
Our program will be provided by Ryan Steere, who will walk us through the types of things that can be made on a 3-d printer and various trouble shooting techniques he has learned.

Class members will assemble their own 3-d printer, learn about its operation, and take the machine home . Class fee $200.

The next meeting of the Schantz Maker Space community will take place on Monday Jan. 19, 2026. The meeting will last from 7 to 9pm.
We’ll meet at The Romich Foundation building located at 13875 Cleveland Rd in Creston, Ohio, 44217.
Our featured speaker will be Gavin Maibach. He has gone through amazing challenges in his life. He has taken classes in our maker space. He will share his experiences. We will talk about future possibilities. In a way, this is all about the reason we exist, and where we hope to go in the future. This will be an interesting meeting.
We will also spend time analyzing the new Genmitsu Kortek 5 watt laser engraver . We are planning on offering a beginners class in laser engraving. We want your feedback.

Schantz Maker Space is providing an introductory 3-d printer build class on Oct 18, 2025. The location of the 4 hour class will be the Wayne County Library main building in downtown Wooster.
The price of the class is $200. For that, each class participant is given an Ender 3, version 3 tabletop 3-d printer to assemble and take home. We provide training during the class on how to operate the machine, as well as ongoing support through our maker space.

The next meeting of the Schantz Maker Space will be held on Monday July 21,2025. We will meet at the Romich Makerspace, 13875 Cleveland Rd., Creston,Ohio. 44217. 7-9 pm.
Barry has purchased a new Genmitsu 3018 , tabletop cnc router.
We expect to have it operating for the meeting on the 21st. Mike Buss from the Applecreek Makerspace has a tabletop laser engraver. He will bring that to our meeting. We’re going to do a side by side demonstration of these two machines,ie: what can they do? What are the advantages, disadvantages? We will also talk about the software they use.
These programs are designed to determine the level of interest in holding a class. If you have considered getting a machine like this, you will want to attend.
Jeff Snure will also give a presentation on building a small weather station it’s the same idea. We are looking to determine the level in interest in holding a class.
If you have previously taken one of our 3-d printer build classes and you are experiencing any problems with your machine, bring it to our meeting. The second half of these Maker Monday meetings is designed to help diagnose and fix any problems you might experience.
We’ll have instructors on hand to help.

June Maker Monday meeting

Our next meeting will be Monday June 16, 2025 from 7-9 pm. It will be held at the Romich Maker Space, 13875 Cleveland Rd. Creston, Ohio 44217.
Our presenter will be Elliot Liggett. He has been a key person in our maker group since beginning. At each year’s Maker Faire he has had a booth in which he demonstrates his devices for detecting tiny Muon particles in our atmosphere. Just knowing the facts about the existence of these particles is interesting enough, but Elliot has designed and created the devices that detect them. He has the knowledge and the parts needed to make 5 of these devices. We are thinking about offering a 2 day class for anyone interested in making one.
Elliot will walk us through the science ,the components, and the assembly.
This will be an interesting meeting and we hope to see you there.

Ps, if you have taken a 3-d printer class, and if you are having any problems with printing, bring your machine to the meeting. The second half of the meeting is to help people with parts, repairs, or procedures. Our experts will be on hand.
