🌹☀️ OCTOBER 13 — MEMORIAL OF THE MIRACLE OF THE SUN AT FATIMA 🙏💙

On October 13, 1917, thousands of people gathered in Fatima, Portugal, and witnessed an extraordinary solar phenomenon known as the **Miracle of the Sun**, associated with the final apparition of Our Lady of Fatima.

Our Blessed Mother calls us to **pray the Holy Rosary, repent of our sins, and turn our hearts toward God.** Her message remains a beautiful reminder that prayer, conversion, and faith are essential in our journey toward holiness. 🕊️

🌹 Today, let us renew our devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and pray for peace in our families and throughout the world.

💙 OUR LADY OF FATIMA, PRAY FOR US!
❤️ IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, BE OUR REFUGE!

💬 Comment “OUR LADY OF FATIMA, PRAY FOR US!” if you honor our Blessed Mother today.

📲 Share this post with your family and friends. Let us spread Mary's message of prayer, repentance, and peace!

St. Carlo was known among his friends and family as being incredibly humble and kind. He was approachable and friendly – not proud and distant. He wanted to reach people where they were in their journey of faith. With a deep love for God and for others, Carlo had a desire to evangelize to the world.

Pope St. John Paul II called Christians to a new evangelization. When he was only eleven years old, Carlo answered this call to the new evangelization by designing a website that included 150 Eucharistic miracles. He completed the website the year before he died.

Since that time, his website has been turned into a traveling exhibition that has been to many countries on five continents. Countless people have been strengthened in their faith due to this website and exhibition. Even as a teenager, Carlo was able to reach the world with the message of Jesus.

St. Carlo experienced much suffering at the end of his life. As Carlo was dying of leukemia, a doctor asked him about his pain. He responded, “There are people who suffer much more than me.”

In this weekends Gospel, Jesus tells the story of a king who prepares a wonderful wedding feast and invites many people to come. Some choose not to accept the invitation, but the king continues to invite others so that everyone can share in the celebration.

As students at Good Shepherd School, we can respond to God’s invitation every day by saying yes to God by following his teachings, welcoming others, including those who may feel left out, and showing kindness, respect, and compassion to our classmates and friends.

Let us continue to be “Good Shepherds”, sharing God’s love and welcoming everyone into our school community!

SAVE THE DATE! Tuesday, October 20th will be our next Dress Down Day, and this one comes with an opportunity to give back to our community!

We will be holding a clothing drive to support the Coat of Many Colors Clothing Bank. As we prepare for the colder Fall and Winter weather ahead, this is a wonderful opportunity for our Good Shepherd families to help ensure that members of our community have warm clothing when they need it most.

Donations may be dropped off at the Admin Office through Wednesday, October 21st. Let’s come together as a school community to share, serve, and help keep our neighbors warm this season! 💙💛

📖 Learning About the Early Church! ✝️

Our Grade 8 students explored an important moment in the history of the Church as they learned about the Council of Jerusalem. Students discovered how the Apostles came together to discuss and decide what requirements Gentiles should follow to become members of the Church.

This lesson gave our students a glimpse into how the early Church faced questions, listened to one another, and worked together to grow the Christian community. What an amazing opportunity to connect our faith today with the decisions and challenges faced by the first Christians!
