The students have been working on memorizing all of their scales and penta-scales (based on age/level). This week I had my first two students complete this challenge!
In order to pass each scale and color their tracking chart - they had to memorize the scale (including correct finger numbers!), play hands separately, and play hands together in parallel and contrary motion. To fully complete the challenge, they spent the last few weeks playing every scale memorized in 3 different orders for me. This required a lot of time and dedication from these two and I am so proud of them! I have also loved seeing the way knowing and understanding these scales well has improved their playing abilities! We'll switch to minor scales next! But first - these two are being rewarded with a short break from scales. 😂
