ANNOUNCEMENTS: August 28th, 2026

SENIORS:
The Oklahoma Hall of Fame Scholarship applications are now open. This is an $8,000 reward based scholarship with these requirements: Attend an Oklahoma, public, private, charter or homeschool; commit to attend an in-state college or university; and get a recommendation from a teacher, administrator, or a non-related adult. The winner is based on leadership, civic and community engagement, academic achievement, and extracurricular involvement. See the counselor’s office for more information.
Mrs. Williams is now accepting resumes for Rotary Student of the Month. Deadline to turn them in is August 31st. You can share them with her from your google drive or bring her a hard copy.

JUNIORS:
sophomores and juniors. We will be giving the PSAT at the end of October. For Juniors this is the National Merit Scholarship qualifying test. If you would like to take this test the cost is $20 and needs to be turned into Mrs. Williams by September 18.

Theme: National Park/camping. “Don’t feed the bears”

WHS Drama will be doing the production of Spongebob the Musical and we need anyone who has ever wanted to sing, act, or dance onstage. Also anyone who hates the stage we have many backstage jobs. Drama Club meeting today right after school in the library or if you can't attend, see Mrs. Pingry for more information. (until thursday)

Plan to join us on Thursday, September 3rd at 7 pm at Crystal Beach Park near the Bandshell for the Boomer Beach Bash to kick off this year's football season with a "Lei it on Chickasha" theme. Come join the fun, get a free lei and free drink and cheer on your team!

Save a life by donating blood, Wednesday August 26, 2026 Student Council Blood Drive. If you are 16 you can donate with parent/guardian permission. Permission forms are in the front office. If you are 17 and older you don't need anybody's permission. Sign up at obi.org or in the front office. Earn an honor cord for graduation by donating. Go to obi.org/high-school to learn about enrolling in the honor cord program.
Reminder to students that Boomer Lane is off limits after school. It is closed due to bus traffic.
