Woodville ISD Woodville Independent School District is located in the Pineywoods of Southeast
Texas.

As a public education provider for our community we are to ensure quality education skills through EXCELLENT instruction in a POSITIVE environment for MAXIMIZING each student’s potential. The district serves approximately 1300 students in a grades Pre-K through
12 on four campuses.

Power has been restored across much of our area and significant progress is being made for those still affected. Our transportation department confirms that road conditions are safe for all of our bus routes. All our campuses have power and buses will run on regular schedule tomorrow.

Due to continued concerns with flash flooding and widespread power outages throughout our area, Woodville ISD is canceling school today, September 2. We will update as necessary through our alert system and social media.

School administration has met with county officials and determined that we will continue with a normal school day. There will be no early release. Official assessments indicate that our specific area is not expected to be impacted as significantly as communities to our south and southwest.

Please be advised that false information regarding our school closing is currently circulating on social media. We are actively communicating with other schools in our district and the Tyler County Emergency Management office. At this time, there are no changes to our normal school schedule for today, September 1st. Should any changes become necessary, we will provide immediate updates. All official communications will be released exclusively through our district's social media platforms and our emergency alert system.

We are actively monitoring the local weather forecast for possible heavy rainfall. The prediction seems that the greatest potential for excessive rainfall remains focused to our south, but we are keeping a close eye on the weather trends.
