💙💛 A BIG BASCOMB SHOUTOUT! 💛💙

We want to give a very special thank you to Allie Millington for coming back HOME to Bascomb Elementary and spending time with our 5th graders! 📚✍️

Allie hosted an incredible Writer’s Workshop, encouraging our students to find their voices, trust their ideas, and—most importantly—CREATE! What a gift it is for our students to learn from someone who once walked these very halls and is now inspiring the next generation of young writers. 🥰

To our Bascomb families and community, these are the moments that make a school truly special. Having former students return to share their talents, experiences, and passions with our Bobcats is something we are so proud to celebrate!

Today we celebrated creativity, courage, and making our mark — inspired by Peter H. Reynolds' beloved book The Dot! Just like Vashti, every one of our Bobcats has a spark of creativity waiting to shine. All it takes is one small dot to get started. ✨🔵

A special shoutout to our amazing Kindergarten teachers for teaching and motivating our youngest learners every day that their marks matter — from first letters to first dots of creativity! Thank you for building the confidence that helps our beginning learners believe in themselves. 💛

The campfire may be out, but the memories from our Camp Read-A-Lot Fall Book Fair will last all year long!

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing Bascomb Elementary families, teachers, and staff for supporting the book fair by purchasing books and encouraging a love of reading in our students. Because of your generosity, more books, resources, and opportunities will make their way into the hands of our young readers.

🌟 Special shoutouts to: 🤎 Our incredible PTA for helping make this event a success. 🤎 Our wonderful grandparents who shopped with students and shared the joy of reading. 🤎 Our dedicated volunteers who gave their time and energy to keep our camp running smoothly.

Your support helped our campers discover new adventures, explore exciting stories, and create lasting memories along the reading trail. Together, we showed our students that every great adventure begins with a book!

💙Happy Grandparents Day, Bascomb Bobcats!
Students celebrated this past Wednesday with the help of our amazing PTA! From fun activities with our vendors to browsing the Book Fair together, grandparents got to share in a little piece of their grandchild's school day — and the smiles said it all! 💛

🐾 BOBCAT SPOTLIGHT: Meet Investigator Andy Farmer! 🐾

For more than 25 years, Investigator Andy Farmer has dedicated his career to law enforcement—including the past 10 years with the Cherokee County School District Police Department.

A 1993 graduate of North Georgia College, Investigator Farmer earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. What he values most about his work is building meaningful relationships with educators and helping provide a safe, supportive environment for students.

Beyond the badge, Andy is a devoted husband and father. He and his wife, Lynette, have been married for more than 30 years. Lynette is a registered respiratory therapist with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she assists with critical ambulance transports for the Neonatal Unit.

Their daughter, Kacy, works for Chick-fil-A Corporate and has helped open new restaurants in Singapore and London. She is currently working in Liverpool, England. Their son, Max, is an apprentice electrician with Inglett & Stubbs.

When he is away from work, Andy enjoys attending church, traveling with Lynette, spending time with family and friends, and playing with their three dogs. A few fun facts: his favorite book is Moby-Dick, and he is also a big fan of dinosaurs! 🐋🦖
