McHenry County Schools Environmental Education Program As educators, we teach hands-on environmental lessons in Preschool through 8th grade classrooms all over McHenry County.

Dedicated since 1987 to inspire awareness to empower action! Welcome to the McHenry County Schools Environmental Education Program! Our goal is to first make students aware of different environmental concepts and issues and provide the skills to react to them. This goal relates to our motto: "Inspiring Awareness to Empower Action."

We do more than just present amazing hands-on environmental lessons in the schools! We can help organize recycling programs like the NexTrex plastic film collection challenge. Here is one of the impressive loads principal Kiernicki from Ringwood brought to the local Meijer!! They were entered to win a Trex bench for their hard work!

It just never gets old bringing a tub of earthworms in for the preschoolers to study! To witness the sense of wonder and awe in their faces. To see the bravery of those that have never touched a worm but muster up the courage to do it!!! We saw over 250 preschoolers this week! Spring has sprung! Thank you teachers!!
