These should be universal for evaluating shooting from a practical skill standpoint. If one of these takes a drop you are falling outside of what is practical.

Here are my thoughts. The whole time slowing down thing is due to a high level of subconscious skills, and doing them at the highest level possible in training. Then when your conscious mind reads the situation decides “oh sh**t threat need to shoot” your subconscious will match that with a fast draw to a good grip and shoot. I think we are kidding ourselves if we say we will be able to slow ourselves down when a threat is that close and about to or currently engaging us. Your behind the curve and your body knows it so it says “as fast as you can” that’s the speed. Can your skills keep up with it or not? The more you push at the flat range the closer I think you’ll get. Once you have the basics down…push them. If you don’t push and try and move as fast as possible….panic may push for you at the most inconvenient time.

There is no secret…just those that do and those that don’t.

Class complete. So cool to get out and help folks get better. Saw a huge improvement on everyone. Watching it all come to get her as we shot the last stage of the class was awesome. We always grade our selves off of how well we feel the students did.
