Congratulations to this week’s Cat’s Meow Award recipient, Daniel MacFarlane!

Mr. MacFarlane brings positive energy, ambition, and a true team-first mindset to Mill Creek each day. He is always willing to jump in wherever needed, whether that means covering a class, co-sponsoring a club, or simply bringing an upbeat start to the day for students and staff.

Mr. MacFarlane currently serves as a sponsor for Earth Club and Jr. Beta, and he recently founded Hockey Club. He is a consistent contributor in both of his PLCs and is always open to trying new ideas to support students and colleagues.

Most importantly, Mr. MacFarlane builds strong relationships with students and uses those connections to keep them engaged in learning and growth. His impact is felt across our school, and we are grateful to have him as part of the Wildcat family.

Ms. Salgado’s 8th grade students put their math skills to work as they compared catering companies, created tables and graphs, and calculated rates to determine which company offered the best deal.

Who knew choosing a caterer could be such a great math challenge?! 🤓📈

📚🍽️ Sixth grade classes are in the library for our annual **Book Tasting!**

Students get a little taste of different genres while exploring new titles, discovering new favorites, and sharing their thoughts about the books they find. We love seeing their excitement as they learn about books they might not have picked up on their own! 📖✨

☄️ Comet Adventures in 6th Grade Science! 🍫

Students in Mrs. Vogel’s sixth grade science class got creative today as they modeled a comet’s journey around the Sun! Marshmallows represented the comet and its growing tail as it traveled closer to the Sun, while chocolate chips stood in for the asteroid belt. 🌞

Then students brought their learning to life by writing a first-person story about a comet’s journey around the Sun—complete with creativity, adventure, and even dialogue! 📖✨

Science + creativity + treats = a fun way to explore our solar system! ☄️🍫🌎

🎬 Lights, camera, STOP MOTION! 🎥

Our 6th grade AV students are bringing their stories to life—one frame at a time! Students are learning about frames per second, storyboarding, and the stop-motion process as they create their own one-minute movies at 10 frames per second.

That’s 600 individual frames to tell a single story! 🤯 Talk about patience, creativity, and attention to detail! We can’t wait to see the finished films! 🎞️✨
