Woodstock has been my family’s hometown for generations. I’m proud of its tradition of tolerance and acceptance for people of all races, backgrounds, identities and beliefs. This is a spirit I hope to foster as a leader in our community and of our school district.

As a growing number of college campuses close, so does the window for students to connect in person with the schools to which they have been admitted. These considerations with an easy to remember acronym (COVID 1-9) will help newly admitted students in their process of discernment.

A general message to District families.

Message to our families from Supt. Mike Moan

I hope you all are healthy as we head back from Spring Break. As we had already shared, Governor Pritzker has closed all Illinois schools through April 7.

We will resume eLearning in District 200 on Monday, March 30. We received feedback from our teachers, students and many families during our week of eLearning before Spring Break. Based on that feedback, we are adding systems that allow for teachers to interact with students and for our students to ask questions of our teachers.

This connection between teachers and students is the most important part of our educational process, and we will do everything we can to foster that connection during eLearning. We have also made adjustments to the middle school and high school schedules that parents should have received information on; the information is also available on our website.

We want and truly need your students to remain part of our school communities during this time of eLearning. This is an incredibly stressful time for our community, and truly our world, and we want your students to have the stability of knowing that our schools and our staff are available to them as a support and a resource. During these difficult times, we still need our students to continue their education and to stay engaged with our teachers and our schools.

Our teachers are working hard to provide our eLearning lessons. As we continue to learn from the process, teachers will make changes to how we deliver instruction so we can find what works best for all of our students.

If you have any questions about your student’s instruction during eLearning, feel free to contact the school principal by email or email or call me at the District Office. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Mike Moan

Sinceramente,

Mike Moan
