Protein folding is complex! It’s not as simple as you read in the textbooks: primary, secondary, tertiary and sometimes quaternary level folding. AI models are upending the years spent figuring out a single protein structure. Why is this important? Knowing protein structure helps us understand function and how it might be targeted by drugs to better human health.

Cancer cells are our own cells. Immune cells shouldn’t attack our own cells, but, immune cells recognize that cancer cells aren’t health and kill them. So why do we get cancer? Because the cancer cells turn on mechanisms that tell the immune system to stop!
