Happy Birthday to the Cumura that reminds us all to stop, be silly, enjoy what brings you joy and most of all inappropriate jokes can be really funny if timed correctly. To the son that is my ‘wonder pushing’ spirit but so sweet and loving once you get him to know you. He is shy but strap in once he is comfortable, it’s gonna be a ride. Happy birthday Matija, I don’t know how you do it but you always know when to tell me you love me, when to give me a hug and most importantly when to tell me a ‘deez nutz’ joke. Thank you for choosing us ‘little man’, we love you.

2025 vs 2021… the physical growth is shocking but more importantly the individual personal growth of these humans is humbling. Cheers Cumura Babies to all life has to offer and the opportunities we take on together.

To the daughter that made me a mama! I think everytime I post about this cumura baby there is such awe and pride in my posts. She challenges me to embrace so many new things, being a dance mom was very new territory. After two years of her joy and commitment I am excited to be along for the ride. She is the child that helps me navigate new environments with excitement, thank you baby girl for that. She stayed dedicated and persistent in her dance year and what a surprise to receive an acknowledgment from her dance studio. We are so proud of her. Thank you for being a caring and supportive environment to our dancer.

And just like that this years school year is complete with many lessons and successes achieved. All three Cumura’s maintained all A honours throughout the year. We stayed the course with the skill of time management and developing a work ethic individual to them all but something to definitely be proud of. Nem and I knew parenting wasn’t going to be easy, but I don’t think any parent chooses it with that mindset. We lead with our hearts and the gratitude of each day being a gift. These Cumura babies make most days easier than we thought they would be. We are proud of them and yup I’m gonna say it, proud of us too! Enjoy your summer, be safe and breathe in the gift of each day.

What a weekend. ⚽️

Now last year I had a goal of completing a marathon and did that with a lot of commitment to healing. This year my goal was and still is to complete a chin up. I know not awe inspiring as the last but still it’s something I have never achieved. By doing so I feel it will show gratitude for the healthy mind and body I have continued to nurture.

This weekend may not have been the weekend I achieve that amazing feat BUT I will say with as much excitement as my fingers will allow me to express. I got back onto a soccer pitch and played a sport that has always held a place in my heart and good memories. Yes at 41, I am back on a soccer field playing co-ed soccer and damn it felt good.

Don’t ever think because you have entered a new chapter in your life you have to leave all the ‘fun’ stuff behind. Now with my children and husband cheering me on it felt more amazing than ever.

My youngest even said afterwards, mama it was so great to watch you, you didn’t miss a ball and you kept moving.

Yes baby I keep moving because I am proud of myself and I wish to be someone you can also be proud of.

Move your body, play, have fun and most of all embrace the muscle memory to creative heart filled memories.

To the girl who made me a mama! Thank you. Thank you for making this parenting thing at times seem so easy. But then also thank you for reminding me that the teenage years are coming. 🤗 We are so proud of you! Your independence is amazing to watch. Your awareness of who you are, what you like / dislike and your leadership skills are so important. I only hope we can continue to nurture you and support you as you grow through this next chapter. The last 10 years with you, have been a gift. Thank you for choosing us. Happy 10th birthday to our LOVE 🐞 BUG.

Three days until game day.
No workout to share. No numbers to distract. Today is an emotional day. The tears are flowing. Physically in my heart, core and physical being I know I can and will complete this.
I am prepared physically.
The weight of what this ‘run’ means to me has been crippling the last few days.
When I was younger I would run to be ‘safe’ to avoid being home. I would run to dissassociate myself from my trauma.
Now I run because I am redefining what physical movement means to me. It is no longer an escape but a blessing to have a healthy relationship with movement. A safe home and relationships to run towards.
The work it takes to change the relationship of what something means to you is absolute and powerful.

When I cross that line to start and finish I may still struggle some days but it will be a great moment to realize … I can, I always will be resilient and strong enough to achieve greatness.
