🌟 Welcome to Woodridge 68! 🌟

Say hello to Joanna Katsoudas, who is joining William F Murphy Elementary School as a fifth grade co-teacher!

Joanna attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and social studies was her favorite subject growing up. She’s most looking forward to becoming part of Woodridge 68’s tight-knit community.

In her spare time, Joanna enjoys reading, lifting weights and watching movies with family and friends. And despite growing up in a Greek household, there’s one food you won’t find on her favorites list: cheese! 🧀

Joanna also has a family connection to Woodridge 68 through a relative who works in the district. We’re happy to welcome her to the Woodridge 68 team!

Say hello to Katy Modglin, a new Learning Behavior Specialist at William F Murphy Elementary School!

Katy attended Saint Norbert College and the University of St. Francis, and creative writing was her favorite subject growing up. This year, she’s looking forward to making lasting memories and building bonds with students and staff.

Katy loves live music — and here’s a fun fact for Chicago sports fans: she once worked for the White Sox! ⚾

Katy already had a connection to Woodridge 68 through a friend who works here, and now she’s officially part of the team herself.

🌟 Welcome to Woodridge 68! 🌟

Say hello to Di Ander, a new fifth grade teacher at William F Murphy Elementary School!

Di attended Eastern Illinois University, and social studies was her favorite subject growing up. She’s looking forward to building a classroom community where students feel known, valued and excited to learn — as well as getting to know her new colleagues at Murphy.

Outside of school, Di enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, cheering on her kids and finding ways to make things a little more creative and fun. She recently added a new activity to the list: playing mahjong with neighborhood friends!

And this isn’t actually Di’s first time at Woodridge 68. Before having kids, she taught eighth grade at Jefferson. We’re excited to welcome her back to the classroom and back to Woodridge 68!

🥬🌱 William F Murphy Elementary School 6th graders recently combined science, sustainability, and service in a meaningful way!

As part of their science classes, students used Fork Farms indoor hydroponic farming technology to grow fresh lettuce right at school. After harvesting their crop, students donated the lettuce to West Suburban Community Pantry to help support local families in need. 💙

What a great example of hands-on learning making a real impact in our community!

🌟 Staff Spotlight! 🌟

Meet Giorgia Cavalleri, a Kindergarten Teacher at William F Murphy Elementary School!
Her favorite subject in school was Math, and today she brings that enthusiasm into her classroom with our youngest learners.

Giorgia says the best part of Woodridge 68 is the friendly and helpful staff who make it such a great place to work.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing volleyball, and scrapbooking. 📚🏐
Giorgia also first connected with the district as a student teacher.
