Yesterday at BotCon Chicago, something clicked for me.

I showed up to support my big brother’s comic company, Creative Ark, expecting to help, observe, and learn.

I left realizing that everything I’ve built, every framework, every book, every lesson in leadership, culture, and human behavior, has been quietly shaping a character I didn’t know I was becoming.

My world has always been about systems, alignment, and transformation.

Industrial-Organizational Psychology taught me how people move.

Lean Six Sigma taught me how systems breathe.

My coaching and community work taught me how culture evolves.

And somewhere between those disciplines, a different kind of identity formed -

one that sees patterns, predicts outcomes, and turns chaos into clarity.

Standing behind the Creative Ark table, watching fans connect with stories, universes, and characters, I realized something important:

I’ve been designing my own origin story all along.

This image represents that awakening.

The holographic grids mirror the way I map human behavior.

The light pulses echo the emotional frequencies I tune in real life.

The cityscape behind me symbolizes the communities I’ve helped transform.

And the armor reflects the resilience earned through leadership, motherhood, and purpose-driven work.

My powers — in fiction and in life — come from the same place:

seeing what others miss, aligning what others avoid, and building what others only imagine.

BotCon didn’t just introduce me to a new world.

It showed me how my own world fits inside it.

Grateful to Creative Ark for the inspiration, the platform, and the spark.

This is only the beginning.

I’m getting soft in my old age — or maybe I’ve always been this way and maturity just made it more visible.

It’s not softness in the fragile sense.
It’s softness in the selective give‑a‑phuck sense.

I sincerely want people who are willing to do the work, work the process, and try to grow… to win.

And because of that, I share experiences, offer perspective, and course‑correct when needed.

But depending on someone’s lived experience, support can be interpreted as everything but support, and that’s why empathy matters in how we approach people.

The more I read posts full of rage over the smallest things, the more I understand how we ended up with a circus running the country.

Clowns everywhere.

We’ve become a nation that treats personal experience like gospel and difference like disrespect.

Something doesn’t have to be your story to be a valid one.

But here’s the real issue: bias.

Not having it — we all do.

Leading with it.

We describe people by race, gender, and identity before we even explain what happened.

We prime reactions.
We activate stereotypes.
We fuel division.

If we stopped centering our biases in how we tell stories, we’d see fewer clowns and more clarity.

Empathy doesn’t require agreement.
Respect doesn’t require sameness.
Understanding doesn’t require shared experience.

Bias is the root.
And until we check it, the circus continues.

So here’s where I land:
I can’t control how my support is interpreted.
But I can be intentional in level‑setting my intention, the why behind what I say and how I show up.

That’s the work.
That’s the maturity.
That’s the Intentional Interchange.
That’s the AAAD Audit of self before the Assess, Design, and Develop of how we engage others.

Selective softness.
Intentional clarity.
Empathy without self‑betrayal.

I’ve been here all along, just more refined now.
