Yesterday, after addressing our staff during Superintendent’s Conference Day, Lt. Christopher Wyllie, retired Navy SEAL and Executive Director of the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum, continued his message with our HHS fall athletes.

Lt. Wyllie spoke about the power of teamwork, selflessness and perseverance, reminding our student-athletes that being part of a team means putting the team before yourself, trusting those around you, embracing your role and never giving up.

For our Bulldogs, the lesson was clear: great teams are built when everyone puts “we” before “me.” 🐾 .w.hewletthighschool

One Mission. One Team. One Incredible Year Ahead.

Today, Hewlett-Woodmere staff came together for Superintendent’s Conference Day, united by a shared commitment to our students, our District and one another.

As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, the day also reflected on the values of service, sacrifice, leadership and perseverance that have shaped our nation and continue to inspire us.

Dr. Dina M. Anzalone challenged staff to lead with Discipline, Skill and Selflessness, while guest speaker Lt. Christopher Wyllie, retired Navy SEAL and Executive Director of the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum, shared powerful lessons on leadership, teamwork and never giving up.

The message was simple:

Lead by example. Never quit. Lift each other up. Accomplish the mission.

Great schools are built by those who paddle together!

🎉 Welcome to Hewlett High School, Class of 2030! 🐾

Today, incoming freshmen took part in Freshman Focus at Hewlett High School, getting an exciting first look at life as a Bulldog!

Students met the HHS Administrative Team, received their school ID cards and agenda books, and experienced an abbreviated version of their future school day by attending eight-minute classes.

They also learned important information about school opening, academic expectations, clubs and activities, lockers, campus life and more. PAL Student Leaders and Sources of Strength were on hand to share helpful tips for achieving both academic and social success at HHS.

A great day of learning, exploring and getting ready for the year ahead! 💙💛

🎉 Welcome to HWPS! 🎉

Yesterday, Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools proudly welcomed its newest staff members during our annual New Employee Orientation!

With the support of the District Leadership Team and Board of Education, our newest colleagues spent the day getting to know the District, connecting with one another, learning about our mission and culture, and experiencing the many things that make our school community special. From team-building activities and a bus tour to lunch and personal welcomes from District leadership, it was a wonderful start to their journey with HWPS. 🐾

We are thrilled to welcome these talented professionals to the HWPS family and look forward to all they will bring to our schools and students! 💙📚

🎉 A HUGE HONOR FOR WOODMERE MIDDLE SCHOOL! 🐾

We are thrilled to celebrate Woodmere Middle School, named a 2026 School of Distinction by the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE)! 🏆

One of just 39 schools selected, this prestigious recognition honors schools that are actively implementing best practices in middle level education and creating environments where young adolescents can belong, grow and thrive.

The distinction follows a rigorous process that included a school-wide assessment, continuous improvement planning, and input from staff, students and families.

👏 Congratulations to Principal John Andruszkiewicz, Assistant Principal Dr. Richard Mangeri, and the entire WMS faculty and staff! This honor reflects your leadership, dedication and commitment to providing an exceptional experience for every student.
