I have felt broken, confused, and empty. Still do sometimes. Yet God has a way of using the very wounds I wish I didn't have to become places of ministry, healing, and compassion for others.

Jesus was broken in order to bless us all who would receive Him.

Sometimes God does His deepest work in the breaking.

The bread was broken before it was multiplied. Matthew 14

Jesus was broken before salvation was offered to the world. Luke 22:1

When you and I surrender our brokenness to Christ, He wastes nothing. He fills us with contentment, joy, purpose, and eternal impact.

I’m learning that fulfillment is found in a surrendered life.

My prayer today-
“Lord, even when it doesn’t always feel true, help me trust that You are working in the breaking. Fill my soul to the brim with Your joy, purpose, peace, and satisfaction. Use every part of my story for Your glory.” ❤️

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4

In my Grief, I’ve had to fight the need to wall up my heart. Moments of wanting to block the pain with anger and bitterness, provide a false sense of power and energy. As tempting as this is, I want to keep recognizing that my pain drives me into deeper places with the Lord, and in those deeper places, the Lord gives me great comfort and healing. And this helps me to help others.

If you are hurting today, I pray that God keeps your heart tender. Don’t let bitterness and anger rot your heart. You’ll be surprised how God‘s power can flow out of your weakest, most painful, tender seasons.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭

There have been times when God didn't show up in the way I expected. My expectations were based on my own desires, not on His promises. Even knowing that, the pain still lingered. I've struggled with many 'what ifs.'

If you're in the same place, Friend, God can help us get to a point where we can say 'Even if You don't, I will still praise You.'

Recognizing our powerlessness in certain situations and affirming God's goodness and worthiness is both freeing and healing. Hold on loosely to people, plans, positions, and perceptions. Let’s cling tight to God’s promises, His power and His perfect plan.

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬-‭19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In suffering, God is not only leading us through the pain-he is inviting us into deeper connection with him. In those hard places our hearts can be more open to His presence, His voice and the new things He wants to reveal within us, about the world, and most importantly about Himself.

Let’s take another step through the pain today, following Him more closely.

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭25‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭

You may feel overlooked by people, but you have never been overlooked by God.

“O LORD, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, O LORD, you know it completely.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭

“He’s the one who comforts us in all our trouble so that we can comfort other people who are in every kind of trouble. We offer the same comfort that we ourselves received from God.”

Thank you to Galax City Schools for having me come share Courageous Conversations.

The students, staff, and administration made it easy to have some honest, heartfelt conversations.

I’m trusting the Lord to take Jake’s story and use it in ways we may never fully see—that something said will stick, and that it’ll make a difference in these young lives for the good.

I’m truly grateful to have been part of it. 💛

As we step into 2026, I want to invite you into a different kind of beginning.

Maybe this isn’t a year to “fix” yourself or strive harder. What if it’s a year to return to meaning, presence, and relationship—with God and with others.

When we reconnect with God’s purpose, something shifts. Our hearts settle. Our steps steady. Peace replaces pressure.

Scripture reminds us that light shines in the darkness, and the darkness does not overcome it. Let God’s light anchor your daily intentions, your decisions, and the direction of your life this year.

Real, lasting transformation doesn’t come from performance. It comes from love—receiving God’s love and allowing it to shape how we live, lead, and relate.

Here’s to a year grounded in faith, guided by meaning, and led by love. ✨

If all you can offer this season is survival,
that is enough.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14

This Christmas, you may be the supportive person someone needs. 🤍
Support doesn’t require fixing—just faithful presence.

• Listen without judgment
• Allow space for memories and feelings
• Encourage simple, steady routines
• Invite connection without pressure
• Pray together
• Create gentle traditions—light a candle, share stories

Small acts of love carry great weight in tender seasons.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
— Galatians 6:2
