As the final bell rings at CES, we aren’t just wrapping up another school year—we are saying goodbye to an incredible group of fourth graders who are officially ready to take on middle school.

It feels like just yesterday they were walking through our doors with backpacks bigger than they were, unsure of where to go. Today, they walked out as leaders.

We made sure their last day was one they would never forget. Today, we:

**Watched the 4th Grade Slideshow:**
There were gasps, laughs, and definitely some misty eyes as we looked back at how much they’ve grown. Seeing their journey flash before our eyes reminded us all how fleeting these elementary years truly are.

**Signed Autographs:**
Yearbooks and t-shirts were filled with sweet messages, inside jokes, and promises to stay best friends forever.

**Had an Epic Water Bottle Fight:**
The playground was pure joy, laughter, and a lot of splashing—a perfectly chaotic, fun-filled celebration of childhood.

**Walked the Halls for One Final Lap:**
In one of the most emotional moments of the day, our fourth graders took their final lap through the hallways of CES. With the younger students and teachers cheering them on, it was a beautiful, bitter-sweet walk down memory lane, marking the official end of their elementary journey.

Parents, thank you for trusting us with your students. Thank you for partnering with us, cheering them on, and letting us be a part of their story. We see the amazing people they are becoming, and that is a reflection of your love and dedication.

To our fourth graders: Middle school is waiting for you, and we know you are going to do amazing things. Don't forget where you started, and remember to always look out for one another.

Change is coming, but some things never fade. Hold your heads high, remember your worth, and always keep this in your heart:

❤️Days like today are what childhood memories are made of!!❤️

Today was our annual CES Field Day, and our hearts are just overflowing. Watching our students laugh their way through the obstacle course, proudly show off their colorful face painting, and cool down together with sno-cones was a beautiful reminder of how special our school family truly is.

We are so incredibly grateful to our local Fire Department and Officer Cuneta for taking the time to visit. 🚒

And to the volunteers, teachers, and staff who organized the games, handed out prizes, and cheered the student on—thank you. You didn't just plan a field day; you created a memory our kids will carry with them for a lifetime. 🏆✨

Last week, our sweet little Beaver Kits officially graduated from kindergarten, and we are just overjoyed. Seeing them celebrate with their friends, wearing their little caps with giant smiles, was absolutely everything.

We are endlessly amazed by the kind, brave, and joyful little humans they are becoming, and how much love they brought to the classroom every single day. They’ve grown so much and are going to go on to do amazing things!

🏆 A TRIFECTA OF EXCELLENCE! 🏆
In an incredible sweep for our district, the Washington State Board of Education (SBE) has officially recognized ALL THREE of our elementary schools for exceptional student performance during the 2024-2025 school year! 🎉
Columbia Elementary, North Fork Elementary, and Yale Elementary have each been named honorees in the Washington School Recognition Program. This prestigious honor is awarded to only 16% of schools statewide, making Woodland’s "three-for-three" achievement a truly rare and significant milestone.
Closing the Gap: Targeted Success
The program identifies schools making massive strides in closing opportunity gaps and ensuring growth for specific student populations. Each of our schools excelled in vital areas:
🔹 Columbia Elementary: Honored for Growth for Students Receiving Special Education Services, highlighting their dedication to inclusive, effective support systems where every learner thrives.
🔹 North Fork Elementary: Earned its award for Growth for Low-Income Students, proving that economic status does not define a student’s potential when given equitable access to high-quality instruction.

The Columbia Reads adventure celebrating Roald Dahl's The BFG has concluded! Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun.

Our students enjoyed visits from a "suspiciously short BFG," and our hallways were filled with beautiful dream jars.
Students participated every day by answering comprehension questions and submitting drawings for prizes.

A huge congratulations to Richard (4th grade) and Cristal (2nd grade) for winning the bikes, generously donated by the Masons!
