Did you know we have one of the best golfers in the 2A GSHL representing Woodland HS?! Sophomore Alexandra Jackson blew away the field at yesterday's golf match. She carded a five over par score of 40, en route to winning the individual stroke play against 4A opponent Battleground HS. Way to go Alexandra!

A Win for Our Athletes: New Soccer Goals Arrive at Woodland

The Woodland soccer program just got a major upgrade thanks to a generous donation from the PSC and Tonya Ingle. New, high-quality soccer goals have been delivered to the high school, marking an exciting new chapter for our players.

But the benefits don't stop at the high school level. In a move that supports the entire district, these new additions have allowed us to pass on the previous goals to the middle school, ensuring that our younger athletes have the equipment they need to develop their skills.

It Takes a Village (and a Tow Truck)

Moving professional-grade soccer goals between school sites is no small feat—they are heavy, awkward, and require specialized equipment to transport safely. We are incredibly grateful to TLC Towing and Recovery Inc. for stepping up to make this transition possible.

The TLC team donated their professional time and heavy-duty equipment to facilitate the move. Their contribution ensured the equipment is moved safely and efficiently, allowing our staff to stay focused on the students.

Beavers Win Big in the Classroom and on the Court

The Woodland High School women’s basketball team has redefined what it means to be "student-athletes" this season. While their performance on the hardwood kept fans on the edge of their seats, their performance in the classroom set a state-wide gold standard.

Academic Champions

The Beavers finished the Fall 2025 semester with a staggering cumulative GPA of 3.93. This isn't just a personal best for the program; it is the highest GPA of any 2A women’s basketball team in Washington State. In a world where balancing practice schedules and rigorous coursework is a constant challenge, these young women have proven that excellence is a habit, not an act.

A Season of Grit

On the court, the team proved they belonged among the elite. Led by Head Coach Glen Flanagan and assistants Ben Nelson, Josh Bunger, and Nicole Guthrie, the Beavers battled to a T-2 finish in the 2A GSHL.

Their postseason run was highlighted by a resilient victory in the district tournament. Although they narrowly missed a trip to the state-qualifying third-place game, their tenacity—or "GRIT"—was undeniable to anyone who attended a home game this winter.
Honoring Our Seniors

As the season concludes, the program says a heartfelt goodbye to three cornerstone seniors:

Jolie Oathes
Madison Walker
Addi Christensen

Interestingly, this trio's impact extends far beyond the gymnasium. All three played pivotal roles on the Beaver softball team that secured a fifth-place finish at the State tournament in Spring 2025. Their versatility and leadership have left an indelible mark on WHS athletics.

"Our varsity players have set the ultimate example for our younger Beavers. They epitomize the top-tier student-athlete, proving you can dominate the scorebook and the grade book simultaneously."

State Bound!

Huge congratulations to our WHS Dance Team!! 🙌🏼 They killed it at Districts today, taking 2nd in Pom and 3rd in Hip Hop! This gave them the green light to compete at State on March 28th! Nice job, ladies!! Woodland is so proud of you! 💚🤍🖤

We have two incredible student athletes who have punched their tickets to the Mat Classic this weekend! Congratulations to Azalia Alvarez (5th place) and Vidi Martinez Hernandez (2nd place) for qualifying for State! The Wrestling Team will culminate their season at the Tacoma Dome this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20th and 21st. Well done Ladies, Woodland is proud of you!
