Students from Douglass and Lee Middle Schools had the unique opportunity to meet with Mike Thompson on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, during their educational trip to Washington, Gettysburg, and Philadelphia.

During the visit, Congressman Thompson spoke with students about the role of Congress, public service, and the importance of civic engagement. The meeting provided students with a firsthand look at the nation's government and the opportunity to ask questions and learn from an elected representative.

The 2026 educational trip was led by Scott Woolf and Everett Brooks, providing students with an unforgettable experience exploring the history, government, and culture of our nation's capital and several of America's most historic cities.
