Hey - heading back to school next week or soon? Here's what we forgot to tell you about choosing your classes. We've always told high school students that 11th grade is "the hard year." What we conveniently neglect to mention is that 12th grade needs to be just as rigorous. Colleges don't want to see you taking a "free period," or leaving school at lunch after just three classes. We know senior year is supposed to be fun - but it's also the year before you start college - and college is hard. So they need to see you preparing for it. Don't skip math. Don't skip science. Take that additional AP class - colleges want to see you challenging yourself! And while they won't see your grades from senior year (you'll be applying before the end of first semester), they WILL see your schedule.
