Lowering the bar for muscle ups

7 years of neck training builds some pretty incredible strength, would you believe my neck used to be one of my biggest weaknesses?
If you want to learn how I safely built my neck from thin to superhuman, DM me HANDS

Week 58, my curiosity has gotten the better of me and I wanted to try stone. Needless to say it’s extremely difficult and I still have to master sand. But now I know the level I want to attain.
I’ve also started a training community for those who want to learn how to grow their hands and forearms, or build full body strength. Message me “HANDS” and I’ll send you a link to join!

Day 143, I’m in the most intense training cycle of my life right now. 30 days of training 2-3 times per day with no rest days. Getting my tendons and muscles used to much greater workloads to handle longer training sessions in the future. The biggest struggle is honestly eating enough. When I’m not training, I’ve been compiling all of my training knowledge into a curriculum to teach you how to develop your body as well. My goal isn’t just to be the best version of myself. But to make 10,000 people the best version of themselves too. It drops Monday.

Week 56: my hands are acclimating to the sand, striking it no longer hurts. Shadowboxing and flowing in the sand is surprisingly challenging. Sand absorbs and shifts with the power from my footwork, so I have to be extra balanced to move effectively. This will transfer over to more efficient movement on stable surfaces.

Besides toughening up the feet, rock runs train the legs to adapt to any angle. Mastery of this technique makes it much less likely to injure oneself on easier terrain.

Day 142: it’s good to be back. I’ve learned a lot while I was taking a break from this training. Shutting down the sword business was really scary, but I couldn’t run it any longer. I released a YouTube video on how to make your own Dragonslayer for those who still want one, and if you can’t make it yourself you can look for a local woodworker to commission it for you. My focus moving forwards will be to teach people my methods of training, and I can’t do that if I’m making swords all day. Thank you all for supporting my journey for over three years now.

Now that I’m in the stone phase of training, exercise selection has changed. My time in the gym is mostly replaced with time in nature. Stonelifting, rock climbing, and handstands have become the center of my strength and conditioning.
Outside of my training sessions, I’m working on an online program teaching all the training methods I’ve learned over the years. It’ll be available soon.

The art of Stonelifting is something I began learning 4 years ago. While it’s uncommon these days, it predates conventional weightlifting by thousands of years.
Every stone is different, so each lift must be approached strategically. It has as many similarities to rock climbing as it does lifting. It builds raw strength, but also teaches you how to orient your body and place your hands when lifting awkward objects.

Learned a lot from this. Pacing and technique plays a bigger part than I prepared for. Now that I’ve ran it I think I could shave a minute off if I tried again. Next time I’ll be faster. Huge thanks to and for hosting this event!
