Rainbow Montessori School Rainbow Montessori School enrolls children ages 3-6 for Pre-School, Pre-K, and Kindergarten. Our curriculum includes preschool and kindergarten.

Rainbow Montessori School was founded in 1983 and expanded to its current location in Woodinville, Washington in 1991. We have two morning classes and one afternoon class, each class three hours long. In a mixed-age classroom, our certified teachers are able to meet each child’s individual needs by providing materials for a wide range of developmental levels. We value independence and try to help

our students develop habits of initiative and persistence. Our goal is to provide each child with the foundation for a life of joyful learning. The habits and skills that children develop in the Montessori classroom are good for a lifetime; helping them observe more carefully, work more efficiently, and concentrate more effectively. The little people who come to understand and engage constructively with their small-scale environment have a good chance of becoming the adults who are able to understand and interact in a wide and wondrous world. Cynthia is retiring! After 18 years in the classroom, Cynthia is finally taking her retirement to enjoy...whatever it is people do when they're not surrounded by children! :D Hopefully it will involve rest, travel, sunshine and probably good wine!

We're hiring! We have two assistant teachers retiring from the classroom at the end of this school year, so Rainbow Montessori School in Woodinville is seeking an assistant teacher for our 8:45 - 12:45 class AND for our 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. class. We are beginning interviews in March 2025 and we plan to complete our hiring by May and do approximately 2 weeks of training in June. The position officially starts in the last week of August 2025 with our 3 teacher cleaning days before school starts in September. Sorry folks, it's another closure. The NSD has closed all schools again today due to icy conditions on the roads. We have the long weekend until we're back, and I'm quite sure we'll see you on Monday! Enjoy the rest, have some hot chocolate, make some slush balls (or ice and mud snowmen?) and we'll be back to school ASAP!

I drove by the school to see how the roads are out there and there's a lot of slush that I suspect might refreeze overnight. It surprised us today because we didn't really see any snow on the ground but I've been hearing reports of icy conditions all day long. I was really surprised that so many other school districts also closed so there's clearly something going on out there more than what I'm seeing from my front door (which is pretty minimal).
We usually follow the NSD so once again, I will check their website first thing in the morning and will post here on Facebook and on our website to let you know if we are closed or open. I'm assuming we'll know again between 5:30 and 6 a.m.
I hope someone was able to scrape together a proper snowball or build a little snowman!! ⛄

It's a snow day! Well, actually, it's probably just an icy roads day. All schools in the district are closed, and therefore, so are we. There might not be snow where you are, but there is enough snow and ice for enough of our families that we are just going to give it the day to (probably) get rained out. Enjoy the day off!

First day of school for NEW students only is just one week away! Remember, the first few days of school are unusual, so be sure to double-check the dates and times for your class (visit the website here https://rainbow-montessori-school.com/calendar).
Day 1 is Wednesday, September 6th--NEW students only, ONE HOUR only, WITH Mom or Dad staying with their student for that hour.
AM class (Jen's class) will go from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
All day class (Julie's class) will go from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. NOTE THE LATE START TIME!
PM class (Barbara's class) will go from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A few gentle reminders:
*If you haven't brought or sent your September 1st payment, be sure to bring it with you to avoid a late fee.
*If you haven't provided your student's immunization records, please bring those on that first day.

Just happened to catch this little duo wandering around the school house this morning 🥰 sorry for the terrible video, I was recording through the slats in the fence!
Also, it's pajama day! And the last day of class. Tomorrow is the picnic at cottage lake park, 11:30 to 2. See you soon!

Friendly reminder that this Friday is the festival for JEN'S class, AND for BARBARA'S class.
Jen's students should be dropped off at school by 9am (arrive early if possible!) and parents return for the program which starts promptly at 10:30.
Barbara's students should arrive by 12:30, and parents return for the afternoon program which starts at 2pm.
It's a complicated schedule for those who are all day, so ask us if you have questions!

Friendly reminder that this Friday June 2nd is JULIE'S festival! Julie's students should be at school on Friday by 8:45 (please arrive on time, or early!), and then the parents RETURN for the program, which starts promptly at 10:15.
(Jen and Barbara's festivals are NEXT WEEK, on June 9th.)
