Academy of Play’s mission is cultivating children to be creative independent learners who will impact the world in partnership with families and empowering parents.
Academy of Play believes that all children must be respected and loved dearly. Our program provides the children with an environment that promotes peace, focus, creativity, and leadership. Our Program Director has years of experience in a Montessori classroom. We have taken many ideas from that philosophy, including the absorbent mind, prepared environment, and following the child.
Our program will ensure the environment is prepared peacefully and following the child's development stages. The children will be active participants in the daily routine, learning how to contribute to their environment. We also be introducing nature and safely encourage outdoor exploration. The children will go outside at least once a day rain or shine.
We seek partnerships with teachers who align with out philosophy, are wiling to learn and explore with the children daily.
We have 12 children ranging from 6mos to 6 years old.
The Teacher's responsibilities will include
- Implementing a developmentally appropriate Montessori program
- Instructional support to children
- Leading children by example and using positive language when redirecting
- Cleaning areas after children
- Changing a diaper and toilet training
