The courtyard and entrance of the school are beautiful and blooming. They've been growing all summer and are ready to welcome student back in just a few short weeks!

The Section 3 VoAg Fair brought the heat this year, both in the temperatures and competition!

It takes a special group of kids to show up so early, put in the time and labor throughout the year and then show their projects in the summer. We are so proud of their dedication, time and effort they've put into their projects!

Illinois FFA State Convention was quite the trip!

On Tuesday, we toured Ace Sign Co. a facility that preserves historic neon signs, but also creates and designs new material. Their team includes designers, welders, painters and more! From there, we headed into a little bit of shopping and food before session 2 SOE Awards where Emily Paul was awarded 1st place in the STATE for Health Science and Technology. We stayed to watch Ethan's retiring address to round out our night.

Wednesday was as busy as could be! We were there bright and early, for Foundation Club Awards, WLC orientation and State Degrees.
Huge congratulations to Clarissa Young for receiving her State FFA degree! We can't wait to have you back for your American Degree!

Thursday we headed in for voting and elections. Hadaly Curry and Ava Trout served as our delegates for helping select the Illinois FFA State Officer Team!

So proud of everything these students have accomplished and will accomplish! See you next year Illinois FFA!

Good morning!

As we approach the end of the school year, it’s time to say goodbye to the plants our students have been growing. Please keep in mind that quantities are limited, as everything was started in our classroom.

These plants may be smaller than what you typically see at garden centers since they haven’t been grown in a greenhouse. However, they’ve been outside and are already acclimated to local weather conditions, which gives them a great head start!

I’m happy to reserve plants for you or send photos of what’s currently available.

Also, if you happen to have extra pots after repotting, we would gladly take them back to reuse for future classes.

We've been keeping a secret!

Horticulture class has had a project in the works for some time now and it's finally finished, just in time for graduation 🙂

So incredibly proud of our students for the work they put into this project, and thankful for administration and teachers that helped make it possible.

From designing, ripping out old plants, laying fabric, digging, planting and everything in between the students showed up in a big way! Special thank you to Phil and Chase for their work and getting a loader to move the rock. It looks beautiful already, I can't wait to see what it looks like when the plants mature and grow into the space.

From our Petting Zoo at the elementary to Section 3 Banquet our chapter knows how to clean up!

We only made it through one rotation of elementary students before the rain but what fun we all had! So proud and grateful for all if the students, parents, and administration that makes events like this possible.

We ended out the day either Section 3 Banquet, a night of bonding, fun and celebration of our year in FFA. Members were recognized for participation, individual and team placings.

Section 3 Horticulture Contest 🌸🌼

Another great contest on Friday (and one of Ms. Davis favorites!) as we start to round out the year.

Congratulations to Lakyn for being 10th place Greenhand individual, and four our Greenhands being the 3rd place team!

Didn't have quite enough for a full Varsity team but still came in at 6th place overall! Congratulations ladies!
