Our 2nd graders are currently learning all about the foundations of writing! To help reinforce why writing matters, we've been connecting our lessons to real-life jobs and showing students why being a good writer, and using correct mechanics, is so important in everyday life.

We invited Lieutenant Cox to Zoom with our classroom to speak with our students about how writing is used on the job every day! From writing incident reports to communication around the station, to fire investigation reports, we want our students to see firsthand how important clear writing is, even for real-life heroes!
