Caroline and area schools are closed tomorrow, March 16th, due to the likelihood of extreme weather. The preschool will be closed as well and we pray our families all stay safe! Let us know that you are aware of this closing by liking or responding below.

Due to the forecast for severe weather on Monday, March 16, Caroline County Public Schools will be closed for all students and employees. This will be a Code 0 day. In addition, all afterschool and evening activities are canceled. The School Board meeting scheduled for Monday has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Caroline Middle School (Workshop at 4:30).

Current forecasts indicate the potential for strong to severe mid-morning and afternoon/evening thunderstorms, including high winds (70 mph+), possible 1-inch hail, and the potential for tornadoes. Because of the widespread timeline associated with the pending storms, an early dismissal is not feasible due to the inability to identify a window for safe student/staff transport. Additionally, multiple storms are anticipated throughout the day, which could result in the need for long periods of "shelter in place” for safety. These factors paired with CCSO/VDOT updates, make a full closure the safest option for our school community.

Families and staff are encouraged to take precautions now to prepare.
Please use the following weather safety tips:

-Secure loose outdoor items such as trash cans, patio furniture, and decorations.

-Charge cell phones and electronic devices in case of power outages.

-Stay weather aware by monitoring trusted weather sources and enabling emergency alerts on your phone.

-Avoid travel during severe weather when possible.

-Never drive through flooded roadways.

-Be alert for downed trees and power lines. To report an outage to Rappahannock Electric Cooperative call 1-800-552-3904. To report an outage to Dominion Energy call 866-366-4357.

Caroline Schools are (currently) on a 2-hr delay tomorrow, February 23rd…so the preschool will also plan to open on a delay. Preschool will meet from 10:30am-12:30pm at this time.
If the schools change to closed in the am, we will notify you of the change as soon as we know!

Caroline Schools are on a delay again tomorrow, but the preschool will be open on time…9am to noon! Bundle up! Warmer days are ahead…we are hoping to pull our tricycles from the ice tomorrow so we can go outside on the blacktop on Tuesday!

Reminder that although Caroline has a two hour delay tomorrow, Feb 6th, the preschool will meet on time again, from 9am to noon.

Good afternoon preschool families! Caroline schools are going back tomorrow, only a two hour delay… But, let’s go on time! Preschool will meet tomorrow from 9 AM to noon, all 2s and any 4s who would like to attend. We will also be on time on Friday for all 3s and any 4s who want to attend.
We can’t wait to see everyone’s smiling faces!
Let us know that you know. If you do need to come later, let us know, but we are hoping going on time allows you to get your preschooler in before any older student needs to get to school.

Well….preschool tomorrow is a no-go….Caroline has closed again so the preschool will remain closed on Wednesday, February 4th. 😞
However….on a positive note we WILL be OPEN on Thursday and Friday provided no additional winter weather comes tonight/tomorrow….no matter what area schools are doing. Any 4s may attend BOTH days, 2s attend Thursday and 3s attend Friday.

Caroline Schools will remain closed tomorrow, so the preschool will be closed on Tuesday, February 3rd as well.
We hope there is a light at the end of this icy tunnel, as Caroline said it hopes to return on Wednesday. Melting from warmer temperatures today and tomorrow will hopefully make our parking lot a safe place to return to (hopefully Wednesday!)

Caroline County Schools remain closed tomorrow, so the preschool will also be closed on Monday, February 2nd. Hopefully warmer temps and sunshine will provide some melting to roads and our parking lot so that we can return safely!

We don’t even need to post at this point….but guess what? No preschool tomorrow, January 30th, as area schools remain closed for yet another day. We are praying to return on Monday but with below freezing temps through the weekend and the threat of more snow…we’ll hold our breath and wait and see! Let us know that you know. This is getting to be a familiar post….but Caroline schools are closed yet again tomorrow, so the preschool will be closed again tomorrow, January 29th, as well. We’ve been told that the church parking lot has not been touched as of today so very possible we will not be able to open Friday, but it’s looking likely that the county schools will be closed on Friday as well. We really hope this weekend’s possible winter weather will not affect next week and we can be back and ready for a fresh start on Monday! We will keep you posted. We’re glad the power stayed on and we hope our little learners get to go outside, even if just for a bit (soooo cold) and enjoy God’s creation! Put a pic in the comments so we can see their cute faces!
