Sunny Senior Quilters Since 2016
When Sew & Glow Gals were asked if we would like to join the Woodburn Senior Center and help out, we were delighted to say yes. The opportunity to sew with the seniors, and secure a home base for our charity sewing, is something we very much wanted to do. At the time, Sew & Glow Gals were meeting twice each month in homes, offices and churches around the Woodburn area. Who could believe that was nearly four years ago!
After helping fix up the “sunshine room” for a class space, we opened the door for quilting fun at the Center! Our Sunny Senior Quilters began with a challenging quilt called Whacky Stacky Crazy Quilt. Boy what a blast! Next, by request, was the offering of more formal quilt classes. After two rounds of Applique Class , and helping with fundraising at the Senior Center, space limitations redesigned our mission at the Center. Sunny Senior Quilting turned into RSVP Sewing Classes. This sewing buddy sign up system is being retired. We are always here for our senior crowd!
We are always looking for more sewing buddies and students to join the fun. Mark Monday on your calendar as “SEW DAY”!!!! Come work with our Sew & Glow Gals building “hugs” as a group!!! Sometimes schedules change, so come by the sewing room, or scroll the timeline to see the latest. You may message us here on Facebook to ask about the latest doings. We sew, we glow, we grow......our mission is simple, “Hug a hurting soul with a loving quilt!....and.....Teach those that want to learn!”
