Today is National School Principals’ Day and National School Lunch Heroes Day, and we are so grateful to celebrate two very important parts of WLS!
We celebrated and recognized our principal, Mr. March, and our amazing lunch heroes, Mrs. Knoblauch and Mrs. Osborn. Thank you for all you do each day to support our students and staff and for making WLS a great place to learn and grow.

Junior Achievement students in 4th grade explored transportation and the challenges of moving goods from one region to another. Students worked together to figure out the best ways to deliver items that aren’t locally available—thinking about distance, cost, and efficiency.

So much creativity and problem-solving happening as they designed their own solutions!

What a fantastic day with Hannah at WLS! 🏁

We loved welcoming Indy 500 Festival Princess, Hannah, to our school as she shared about the history of the Indianapolis 500 and gave students a glimpse into the excitement of race day traditions. Our students even held their own race and celebrated just like the pros—finishing with the iconic “kissing of the bricks!” 🧱

Our older students also got a hands-on experience with what it takes to be race-ready. They participated in exercises focused on building core strength, upper body strength, reaction time, and the importance of staying hydrated—just like real drivers!

We’re also proud to share that, together, our school community raised $213.37 to support Hannah’s mission with Community Harvest Food Bank through Project 216. Every dollar will help provide meals to those in need.

Thank you to our families and supporters for your generosity, and a special thank you to Hannah for taking the time to visit and inspire our students. What a memorable experience for everyone!

We’re excited to welcome Indy 500 Festival Princess, Hannah Dietel, to our school on April 22! If you’d like to support Hannah and her work with Community Harvest-Project 216, donations can be dropped off at the school office anytime now through Wednesday, April 22. Thank you for supporting Hannah and this worthwhile cause!

Our second grade class led chapel this morning, and our 5th grade student Harper accompanied on guitar and sang 10,000 Reasons. We also recognized baptism birthdays and our children of faith. It was a beautiful morning of worship.
