π A Summer Send-Off Love Letter β From Farah & Rose π
As another summer comes to a close, there are a few people we just arenβt quite ready to say goodbye to yet. βοΈππ»
To our amazing high school and college summer staffβthis one is for you.
Our families may see you greeting their children in the morning, playing games, helping with activities, going on field trips, handing out snacks, or somehow keeping up with a group of kids who seem to have an unlimited supply of energy. π
But what they may not always get to see is everything else.
They donβt always see you showing up early, staying late, jumping in when someone needs help, comforting a child who is having a hard day, celebrating the little victories, cleaning up the messes, solving the tiny crises, answering the same question for the 47th time, or giving one more piggyback ride when you probably should have said no about five piggyback rides ago. π
We see it. And we hope you know how incredibly proud we are of you.
You came to work this summer and became so much more than βsummer help.β
You became teammates. Role models. Encouragers. Extra sets of hands. Sources of laughter. Safe people for our children. And, somewhere along the way, a very important part of our SPP family. π
You worked hard. You showed maturity and responsibility. You rolled with schedule changes, long days, hot days, wet days, loud days, and all the wonderfully unpredictable things that come with summer camp.
Most importantly, you loved our kids well.
And that is the part we will remember most.
As you head back to high school and college and onto everything this next year has in store for you, we hope you take a little piece of this summer with you.
We hope you know that the little people who looked for you every morning will miss you.
We hope you know that the friendships you built mattered.
We hope you know that there were children watching you, learning from you, laughing with you, and thinking you were just about the coolest people on the planet. π₯Ήπ
And we hope you know that Farah and Rose are incredibly proud of the young people you are becoming.
Go have an amazing school year. Work hard. Have fun. Make good choices. Chase big dreams. Call your mothers. π And please donβt get too grown up on us, because we would absolutely love to see those familiar faces walking back through our doors next summer. βοΈ
We already miss you.
And while weβre handing out love, we also have to give a huge shout-out to our school-year staff who spent their summer right here at camp with us. π
These are the rock stars who finish one school year, take approximately three deep breaths π, and jump right into summer mode.
Thank you for bringing the same love, patience, flexibility, and dedication you give all year long into our summer program. Thank you for supporting our seasonal staff, helping guide our younger team members, stepping into whatever role was needed, and being the steady foundation that helped keep everything moving.
Our summer program works because so many different people bring their own gifts to itβand watching our year-round staff and summer staff become one team is one of our favorite parts of camp.
To our families, thank you for trusting all of these incredible people with your children this summer. We hope when your kids look back on camp, they remember the field trips, water days, games, crafts, silly moments, and summer adventures.
But even more than that, we hope they remember how they felt here.
Loved.
Safe.
Included.
Important.
Happy.
Because behind every one of those feelings was a staff member who showed up and cared. β€οΈ
So to our summer staff who are heading back to school, this isnβt really goodbye.
Itβs more likeβ¦
Go be amazing, make us proud, and come back and tell us all about it. π
Thank you for giving a piece of your summerβand a piece of your heartβto our kids.
You will always have a place here.
With so much love and gratitude,
Farah & Rose βοΈππ»π
