✨ At TLA-LAWS, we are so grateful for the kiddos we get to serve every day. Supporting neurodiverse children is an honor we never take lightly — their strengths, curiosity, and growth fuel everything we do. 💛

✨Struggling with handwriting tolerance? Try this!✨
If your kiddo resists writing tasks, remember — writing doesn’t have to feel like “work.” 💡

🧪 1️⃣ Make it fun!
Embed writing into your activity instead of separating it.
In this video, we wrote out our science experiment plan — listing materials, steps, and even our predictions. At the end, we reflected on what we learned!

✍️ 2️⃣ Focus on the goal, not perfection.
If you’re building endurance and tolerance, don’t stress the size or neatness of letters. Once engagement kicks in, handwriting quality naturally improves (with a few gentle prompts 😉).

📈 3️⃣ Grade the task based on where the child is.
Meet them where they currently are. If tolerance is low, maybe start with writing just 1–3 words instead of full sentences. As their endurance, confidence, and attention grow, gradually increase to longer sentences or short paragraphs. The goal is steady progress, not perfection!

🎯 Make handwriting interactive!
Keep writing purposeful and playful — try ideas like:

🏐 Volleyball handwriting — write a silly sentence when your opponent scores
🎲 Roll & Write — roll dice to decide how many words to write
🕵️‍♀️ I Spy Sentences — write clues about what you see
🧁 Menu writing — create menus for pretend restaurants
🧳 Adventure journals — jot notes from a scavenger hunt or pretend trip
Keeping it fun keeps kids engaged — and that’s where real progress starts!
