Today we received the most thoughtful gift from one of our own teachers, Alyssa Godsiff, and we just had to share it.
Alyssa painted this beautiful scene of a teacher leading her students along our nature trail, accompanied by the words, "Shepherding the Flock." It perfectly captures the heart of our ministry and the calling of early childhood educators… to lovingly guide, encourage, protect, and nurture each child entrusted to our care.
This painting is more than artwork; it's a beautiful reminder of the work happening here every day and the love that surrounds our little learners.
Thank you, Alyssa, for sharing your incredible talent with us. We are honored to display this special piece at St. Matthew's Day School for our families and visitors to enjoy for years to come. ❤️

At St. Matthew’s Day School, we appreciate perspectives like this one.
This dad isn’t an expert in child development… he’s a parent sharing his experience and the thoughtful decision he made for his daughter. His story reflects something we often see: for some children, an extra year before kindergarten can be a valuable gift of time to grow, mature, and build confidence.

🧪🔬 Summer Science is off to an amazing start at Wonder Lab! 🌱✨

Our young scientists have been busy exploring, investigating, questioning, and discovering! One special moment this week came from a child proudly dressed in a lab coat and goggles who exclaimed, “I’m a scientist!” 🥼🥽💚 That excitement and confidence is exactly what Wonder Lab is all about.

Each morning begins with Music & Movement 🎶💃🕺 — a joyful way to start our day together before heading off on our scientific adventures!

So far, campers have:
🍎 Dissected fruits and vegetables while searching for seeds
🚶‍♀️ Enjoyed outdoor “walkabouts” to observe the world around them
🧫 Investigated a mysterious creature concocted by Dr. T from Mad Science of DC
📚 Explored science books and materials in their home bases
🌱 Observed seeds beginning to sprout and grow

Every day has been filled with curiosity, hands-on learning, movement, and joyful discovery. We can’t wait to see what our scientists uncover next! 🔍✨
