Tour of my most recent builds in Petaluma. All completely hand woven. Credit to the client for the epic custom redwood ladder!

If this looks like something you’d like to learn, I offer a free knit guide and online courses at the link in my bio.

Some photos from a recent build in Petaluma.

After several workshops and retreats, it was nice to jump back in to an installation, really focusing on taking my time and enjoying the craft. I’m super proud of the natural curve in the strips pattern that emerged over time and the way it all blends in with the redwoods.

Credit to my client on this one for such an epic custom ladder for access!

I’m using impromptu pulleys like this all the time and this is one of most common uses. Quicker than a ratchet and works in tight spaces like this.

For more info how to get started weaving, check out the link in my bio for a free tree net knot guide and a video tutorial on how to build your first mini net at home.

Photos from our weaving retreat in Vermont Living Tree Alliance

We spent four days together learning all the knots, patterns and techniques needed to complete a complex weave from start to finish.

Thanks to everyone for being such a great group and to Living Tree Alliance for making us feel at home in their beautiful space. Can’t wait to go back!

I am on the hunt for a few different spots around the SF Bay Area to host 2-3 workshops this summer!

If you (or someone you know) has a property, forest, retreat center, campground etc that would be a good fit, feel free to shoot me a DM.

The idea is to host a small group for a two day workshop where we build a complete tree net together from start to finish. In exchange for hosting, you’d receive a finished net.

And if you’re interested in attending one of the workshops, comment WEAVE and I’ll make sure you’re the first to hear when dates and locations are announced!

For weekend two in Colombia, the La Reservita team helped clear some bamboo to make way for a triangular net on the hillside with an epic view.

We started at waist height on the high end of the hill, but once the attendees learned the ropes (pun intended 😎), Pablo and Andre were able to tap into their arborismo skills to teach them how to weave up high, allowing the team to slowly fill in the whole net.

There’s still a bit more weaving to be done. The net was a bit ambitious for a two day workshop, but it was a great opportunity to showcase what happens when you weave on a slope. The views were also pretty sweet too 😊

For our workshops in Colombia, we teamed up with the team at La Reservita. We brought the weaving know how and they brought the amazing location, great food, and awesome vibes.

I’m probably sounding redundant by now, but the lesson I’m learning over and over again is how special weaving can be as a community builder. There’s something magical about a team coming together to weave something with their hands. And then, of course, we get to relax in the fruits of our labor at the end!

It doesn’t hurt that everyone who came was extremely kind, open and warm. I don’t know if it’s the weaving or the culture, but there was something special going on here that I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of. Thanks to everyone for making it such a great time. ❤️
