The Oilers grabbed their first win of the season tonight in a 9-1 win over Jennings High School! Both Kaidence Reef and Sierra Holbrook-Blair both scored 3 goals apiece, while Emma Glenn, Fallyn Sanders, and Jayla Cartwright each added a goal. Kaidence Reef and Emma Glenn both had two assists each, and Fallyn Sanders added another. Goalkeeper Peyton Johnson made 6 saves for the win in goal.

As a coach, I’m very proud of these ladies to see their hard work pay off, but as much relief as this win gives us, we’re not done! We have a good number of games on the season and we should be hunting for win #2 now. Onward and upward, Oilers!

Another night of learning and growth at Southwestern HS tonight. Some really great plays and resiliency from this group tonight despite having to play with 10 players instead of 11 most of the match.

Sophomore goalkeeper Peyton Johnson made some incredible saves tonight, including two on rapid fire shots! Keep working!

The entire lineup played hard tonight, but we talked on the bus home about getting to that next level. Not just being a hardworking team, but skilled and cohesive as well. Great things are on the horizon with this young group!

It’s tough to learn this sport at the varsity level. There’s a huge difference between the slower, instructional JV games and the fast-paced, aggressive Varsity matches. We are an extremely young squad and we have taken our lumps as we continue to learn and grow…

…but one thing this squad shows no matter what is HEART. Despite the losses, we continue to progress. Just this week:
❤️Sophomore co-captain Kaidence Reef has a goal and two assists
❤️Sophomore co-captain Annaleigh White has a goal and an assist (her first HS goal!!!)
❤️Freshman Fallyn Sanders scored her first ever high school goal
❤️Sophomore goalkeeper Peyton Johnson has made 47 saves

This is how our team Loves Maroon & Lives Gold. Put in the work, put in the time, put in the effort and we’ll grow stronger together!

Played Greenville HS tonight in the driving rain and went into the half down 0-1. Unfortunately, we lost 0-6, but our brand new goalkeeper sophomore Peyton Johnson played an incredible, strong match tonight, recording 24 saves! Keep the heart, ladies!

Not the result we wanted tonight, but lots of positives from our frosh/soph heavy roster. Several girls played in their very first high school game and for some, their first ever soccer game. Plenty of things to continue to work on and improve, but the effort and desire to compete was impressive. We play, we learn, we grow.
