We are proud to partner with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, an organization dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting free books to children. Children under the age of five who live in Wood Dale are eligible through our affiliation. Visit imaginationlibrary.com to learn more and to sign up.

Each month, a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child’s name directly to your home. Best of all, it is a free gift! There is no cost or obligation to your family. Books are available in both English or dual language English and Spanish. Books will begin arriving eight to ten weeks after the Imagination Library receives your registration and will continue until your child turns five or moves out of Wood Dale.

Free English Courses at College of DuPage! Improve your reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills with supportive instruction to build confidence and reach your goals. Placement testing is required before registration, and can be taken at the Wood Dale Public Library on Tuesday, August 25, or Thursday, August 27. Visit events.wooddalelibrary.org to register.

Join us at the Library on Saturday, August 1, for an adoption event with adorable cats and kittens from St. Sophia's Forgotten Felines! Registration is not required to visit with the cats, but in order to adopt, you must have a valid photo ID, a secure cat carrier, and be 21 or older. Attention to parents and caregivers of children ages 0–5! If you're new to the neighborhood or just want to see what local resources are available, visit us on Saturday, July 25, for our Early Childhood Extravaganza! Presented in partnership with the Bensenville Community Public Library, this event is a great opportunity to connect with other caregivers and parents, learn about local schools, and explore community resources.

Attention wristband winners! Enjoy your wristband today ahead of a potential stormy Sunday. Congrats to the 173 winners who've logged 8 hours of reading so far this season! Stop by the special events tent at the fest to pick up your wristbands.

🎡 Prairie Fest Update! 🌦️

Due to the potential for stormy weather on Sunday, any Sunday carnival wristbands may also be used on Saturday. We want everyone to have the chance to enjoy the rides and make the most of Prairie Fest weekend! This includes the Wood Dale Public Library Summer Reading Program participants, and the District 7, Pura Vida 5k participants.

Don't forget: Summer Reading Challenge participants 17 years and younger can get a free wristband to Prairie Fest on Sunday, June 21, if they log eight hours of reading!
