We will be closing early today, Monday January 30th, at 4:15pm. Frenship ISD is closing all facilities at 4:30pm today due to the weather. Therefore, all of the Discovery Depot After-School programs will be closing at 4:15pm. If you are able to pick up your child from school today instead of sending him/her to after-school, that would be helpful as we'll be short-staffed as well due to some of our employees being unable to travel safely to work today. Thank you for your understanding!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Moms!!! May your day be as special as you are! 💜🌹💕
We can’t wait to have our parents come back inside our buildings beginning tomorrow!
We have received a few questions about making up the school days we missed during the recent winter storm. Spring Break has NOT been cancelled and it is still scheduled for March 15-19.
The Texas Education Agency released a new waiver to help school districts impacted by the winter storm and state-wide power outages. Frenship is looking at applying for this waiver. The waiver would cover some of the missed days and we would not be required to make them up later this year.
We will continue to be closed at all locations tomorrow. We’re sure hoping to see everyone on Monday!
**CLASSES CANCELED FRIDAY, 2/19**
We understand this extreme weather continues to put a strain on energy sources across the state. Due to the dangerously cold temperatures and to help our energy providers, Frenship will once again cancel all classes for Friday, February 19. This means there will be no Face-to-Face or Virtual Learning tomorrow. Campus and central office staff will continue to work from home.
Please stay safe, bundle up, and be careful if you have to get out!
We’ll continue to keep you updated and communicate any additional changes.
We will continue to be closed at all locations tomorrow, 2/18/21. Thank you for your patience!
**CLASSES CANCELED THURSDAY, 2/18**
As the extreme winter weather continues tonight and tomorrow, along with the urgent need to conserve energy, Frenship ISD is canceling all classes for Thursday, February 18. This means there will be no Face-to-Face or Virtual Learning tomorrow. Campus and central office staff will continue to work from home.
This will also allow our Frenship maintenance and grounds crews to clear parking lots and sidewalks for students and staff to safely return on Friday.
We will monitor the weather conditions and continue working closely with our local energy providers to help conserve energy as we see power outages across the state.
Please stay safe, bundle up, and stay off the roads if possible!
We’ll keep you updated and communicate any additional changes.
We will once again be closed tomorrow, 2/17/21, per our policy of following the FISD weather closures. Please stay safe if you must go anywhere. Roads are slick!
**CLASSES CANCELED WEDNESDAY, 2/17**
As we continue to see state-wide power outages and the need to conserve energy, along with additional snow fall and worsening roads, Frenship ISD is canceling all classes for Wednesday, February 17. This means there will be no Face-to-Face or Virtual Learning tomorrow. Campus and central office staff will work from home.
Central Office and all campuses will remain closed to help conserve energy.
We are aware the extreme weather and cold temperatures are causing major issues for many of our Frenship families. We encourage you to check on your neighbors and elderly family and friends. Please stay safe and avoid getting out on the roads if possible.
Frenship will continue to closely monitor the weather and work with our local energy companies. We will provide any new updates they become available.
Due to Frenship’s announcement of another weather day tomorrow, we will be closed at all locations as well on 2/16/21. Stay safe and warm and try to conserve electricity to minimize power outages!
**CLASSES CANCELED TUESDAY, 2/16**
Due to continued winter weather with more snow, dangerously cold temperatures, hazardous road conditions, and the possibility of power outages tonight and tomorrow, Frenship ISD is canceling all classes for Tuesday, February 16. We also understand this extreme weather is putting a strain on energy sources across the state. To help, our campuses and Central Offices will remain closed to conserve energy.
This means our students will have the day off and there will be no Face-to-Face or Virtual instruction. Staff will use the day to work from home.
We will continue to closely monitor the weather conditions the next few days and will provide updates as they become available. Your safety is important to us. Please stay safe, warm, and be careful on the roads if you absolutely have to get out.
Due to FISD's announcement of a virtual staff development day tomorrow instead of in-person, Discovery Depot and Bennett Depot will be closed tomorrow 2/15/21 for weather. Stay safe and warm!
Frenship ISD has announced a 2 hour delay this morning. Therefore, Discovery Depot and Bennett Depot will be opening at 8:30am. Please be careful. Roads are icy this morning!
Frenship ISD has announced a delayed start for tomorrow morning, Tuesday, January 12. Therefore, we will be opening at 8:30 tomorrow morning. Please be careful on the roads and in our parking lots as things will be icy in the morning.

Beginning tomorrow, Monday March 23, we will be removing all shoes before going into classrooms. Our carpets were all cleaned this weekend, and we’re trying to prevent extra germs from entering our rooms. Socks will be mandatory. Parents, please label your children’s shoes to help us when we go outside to play. Either write their name inside or on the bottom, or tie a name tag on them. Also, please sanitize your child’s lunchbox and jacket daily to cut down on the spread of germs. Thank you for helping us keep our kiddos and staff healthy!
What a great idea, parents! Get the family out of the house to enjoy some fresh and let the littles “bear hunt” while they’re out! Communicate with your neighborhood to make this happen!
If you are not yet aware, the Governor of Texas has announced that all schools will be closed until April 3rd. This does not include Childcare facilities. Please read the following that we received from TX Childcare Licensing:
Executive Order Issued by Governor Abbott
On March 19th, Governor Abbott issued an executive order ordering that all schools shall temporarily close. This executive order does NOT apply to child-care facilities including a day-care center, group day-care home, or family home. All child-care facilities should continue to follow the guidance from HHSC Child Care Licensing department, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
We're still here at Discovery Depot and Bennett Depot to serve your children and families with childcare options for ages 6 weeks to 5th grade! Starting on Monday, we will begin a structured program to promote learning with our school-age children. I'm resurrecting my education background (my EC-6 license is still current😀) to be able to provide some great brain-stimulating opportunities for your children! We have a special remote interactive experience about Fire Safety planned for Wednesday morning with the Wolfforth Fire Department!
We're operating at a greatly increased level of cleanliness, and every person who enters our buildings is being screened for possible illness. All of our carpets will also be cleaned this weekend. Thank you for continuing to trust us to provide the best care (and education) possible for these kiddos during this uncertain time!
Mrs. Sarah - Owner, Director, Sanitation Specialist, Health Inspector, and Lead Teacher (Lol! These roles could be assigned to any of our amazing staff who are pulling together to get through this crazy time! We love and appreciate them so much!)
