The FIRST Robotics Competition was held today at the Amarillo Civic Center, allowing students from across the state and New Mexico a chance to test out their robotic skills.

Today in Amarillo Robotics Competition “Fe” Iron Tigers won this award:

The FIRST Engineering Inspiration Award is a significant honor within the FIRST Robotics Competition. Here's a summary of its key aspects:

Purpose:
* It celebrates a team's success in promoting respect and appreciation for engineering within their school and community.
* It recognizes teams that effectively inspire others about the value of engineering.

Criteria:
* Judges evaluate the team's efforts in recruiting students to engineering.
* The extent and inventiveness of these recruitment efforts are considered.
* The team's overall impact on their school and community in fostering an understanding of engineering is assessed.

Significance:
* Winning this award qualifies a team to advance to the FIRST Championship.
* It is considered the second highest team award that FIRST bestows.
* Unlike the Chairman's award, there are no formal submissions, the judges gain their information from oberservations of the teams actions, and interactions with other teams, students, and mentors.
In essence:
* The Engineering Inspiration Award highlights teams that are not only building robots, but also building a culture of engineering appreciation.

What a season it has been! As always we have had a great time building a robot for the FIRST Crescendo game. Lots of hard work and love as well as building our community. We finished 15th in qualifications at Amarillo, but did not get selected to advance to semi-finals. Still proud of what we accomplished, and look forward to next season!

First day of qualification rounds at the Amarillo District event! We are excited to compete and work to earn a spot at state next week! Team members and mentors are also serving as volunteers here at the event! We love serving as well as building robots!! Wish us luck today!

The Fe Tigers had a good first competition weekend in Waco! While we were in spot 21 after qualifications, we were selected in the first round of alliance selections by the 8th seed alliance captains Project Neo TEAM 1164. We also got the chance to help a very young team from Santa Ana, Texas, Team SAR 8852! We didn’t go as far as we would have liked in semis, but have 21 district points and a plan for improving the robot when we return for our Amarillo district event!

What a weekend it has been so far! Yesterday was a long day as matches were behind, but started today in 14th place and are currently in 9th!!! Looking to break into the top 8 and advance! Drive teams and scout teams are working hard and getting it done!!
