Just a little more then 2 weeks until our Wilderness Survival Snowshoeing and Winter Skills class. What could be better then spending a day on snowshoes in the woods enjoying the serene winter landscape of New Hampshire while learning skills to increase the enjoyment and safety along with being prepared for an unexpected situation. If you spend time in the winter woods this class is for you. We still have a few spots left. Looking forward to seeing you there.

This past Sunday was a great day to be outside. Warm sun, gentle breeze, and lots of activity. The New Hampshire Outdoor Learning Center joined the Alton Business Association for Alton Winter Carnival. We set up a small informational booth and displayed the latest addition (2025 Skandic Wide Track) to our equipment line-up to make opportunities more accessible for our students and clients. The Ice runway had 131 landings Sunday. For those that didn't know the Ice Runway is the only FFA approved ice runway in the contiguous United States. As you can see in the pictures it was a very busy day for everyone with plenty going on. A big shout out to the Alton Business Association for all they did and most important all the enthusiastic people for coming out and sharing this marvelous day.

Just wanted to share a few photos of our Wilderness Survival 102 overnighter from last weekend. 4 students trekked into the woods for a day hike and learned what it takes to spend an unexpected night in the woods. A full day of hands-on learning included basic compass familiarization, site selection, safe knife and axe work, making water safe for consumption and utilizing a rapid ridgeline for setting up a super shelter.
We are happy to say that all 4 students battled the cold and dark to walk out of the woods the following morning, with no injuries or issues!
