Franz Haase, owner of The Folk Cellar in downtown Wolfeboro, has announced the establishment of a new 501©3 non-profit arts organization which will expand the offerings of his four year music business and serve the greater Lakes Region in all areas of the arts. Wolfeboro Institute of the Arts is designed to explore the arts across all disciplines, including visual and literary arts, and serve as

a resource for area artists and residents to develop creative skill sets that enhance their quality of life in all areas, including health, education, business and recreation. A core value of Wolfeboro Institute of the Arts is providing opportunities that define the uniquely Lakes Region experience. Drawing from the natural assets and history of the area, WIA programs, performances and classes will help to encourage business partnerships that foster connections between the culture of the Lakes Region and art to engage and inspire.

Lots of exciting news over the past month!

1.) We are now officially a 501(3)C non profit organization!

2.) Our location on main street at the Folk Cellar is officially sold! We will be sending out emails and updates as to our new location in the next week!

3.) Last Sunday was our WIA Spring Student Recital and what a turnout. Thanks to all the parents and the students for such a wonderful recital.

4.) Since we are changing location, our phone number will have to change. You can reach us at 603-781-5444 during our transition.

Inspired by programs like NPR’s StoryCorps and short clips readily available through social media, WIA will be presenting a participatory program to assemble and archive a collection of two-minute recordings of stories and memories that people share about Wolfeboro. This free and enlightening opportunity is called Wolfeboro Whisperings.
